mostly middle/older age women, young women.....etc...basically most victims are defenseless

I always have a cup of coffee on me.......reason being. I tend to just go on these photography shooting sprees. I usually go at it alone, and at any given time I am carrying thousands on me in gear (lenses, either a 7D or 70D, etc). There was one attempt made at robbing me....and instinctively I just launched the cup at dudes face and ran.

These days, people say....."well thats why I carry a knife, pepper spray, etc"....but if the robber gets his hands on your shyt, you fukked yourself....melting someones face off with a Caramel Macchiato isnt expected.

As far as the stabbings on the subways.......just try to stay off your phone, and scan the car you are in for suspect looking mofos. Most of the people stabbed/sliced were distracted by their smartphones. Situational awareness is lacking these days with most people.

A 20-year-old woman was slashed across the face during a mugging in the Bronx early Friday, officials said.

The attack was the latest in a spree of slashings that have occurred in the city this year, officials said.

Paula Nicolie Delos Santos told police that she was walking home along Holland Ave. near Morris Park Ave. in Van Nest around 12:10 a.m. when a man jumped her from behind and grabbed her cellphone.

“I was on the phone with my friend (and) all of a sudden I feel a presence behind me,” she said. “I look back and he tries to take my phone. My first instinct is to grasp on tighter, and I think he took it as me fighting back or being defensive.”

When Delos Santos resisted, the suspect raked a blade across her face, leaving her with a deep gash, police said.

“I felt his hand move towards my cheek but I didn't see what the weapon was,” she said, noting that doctors said the nearly three inch gash on her left cheek is consistent with the kind of cut caused by a box cutter blade.

The crook then kicked the woman and ran off with her pocketbook, keys, $25 and her credit cards. The attack happened about four blocks from her house.

But those sublimated Martha Cooper/Ralph Bakshi/Shawn Mortensen etc. joints were godly and there are times where I SOMEWHAT regret selling my streetwear shyt and kicks.

The shawn mortensen shirts are grail. The bill weiss wtc one is probably the best sublimate tee they did.

The incident was the latest in a spate of knife attacks in the city in the past few months. Year-to-date through Sunday, there have been 471 stabbings and slashings - compared to 395 last year for the same time period.

NYPD Commissioner Bill Bratton said Thursday that the slashings are not part of a pattern.

"My sense is these are horrific incidents but in isolation," Bratton said. "Some of the people we are dealing with are these service-resistant street people; (They) have been involved in a number of these incidents. A number of the individuals involved have significant psych issues. A number of others are domestic neighborhood type disputes. They run the gamut."

this. i started taking the trains alone at 12, and the first thing i was taught was to observe everything and everybody. my parents and my uncle drilled that into my head, and it stuck with me. its amazing how many people are on the trains absolutely clueless, with their phones/ipads/ and even MacBooks out. i always think how easy it would be rob them
