I LIVE IN A CARDBOARD BOX!
I was kind of concerned for DC Animation when it was announced that Bruce Timm had stepped down.

Then they announced James Tucker was taking over. Tucker is a very good guy, a fine producer, artist, writer. He, along with Timm and the late Dwayne McDuffie were the minds behind the awesome (and what should have been an Emmy Award winning) Cadmus storyline in JLU among other great things. Judging by the "Cadmus Exposed" feature on JLU: Volume II and interviews that I have seen, I would even venture to say that he's probably an even bigger geek than Timm is. So, in that respect, my hopes remain reasonably high for anything coming from his leadership. Best of luck to him.

Still, Timm leaving was a big deal and a big loss for WB and DC. I know the word "genius" gets thrown around a lot these days, but if anyone deserves such a title, it's Bruce Timm. One wonders if the piss-poor treatment of Green Lantern: The Animated Series has anything to do with it. WB Animation and its few outlets (like Cartoon Network) have been doing a great job of giving Timm a reason to not stick around. Between GL:TAS and the way that WB leadership has blatantly refused to let Timm do any DTV projects that don't include Batman, Superman, or the Justice League (I realize that they're the big cash cows, but do something different for God's sake), he's probably been chafing a smidge (and I don't blame him in that regard at all). Couple that with the fact that the guy has been with WB for twenty years, so maybe it's time for a change.

Now, I don't have much faith in Marvel Animation these days. They have screwed the pooch three times, in my opinion, with the cancelations and management of Spectacular Spiderman, Wolverine and the X-Men, and Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes, but if they (along with Disney) were smart, they'd throw some money at Timm, hire him, and get him on their projects. Paul Dini (another guy who got tired of WB's Animation politics and became a freelancer because of it) is writing for Marvel now, and I'd really like to see what Marvel could do with a mind like Timm's behind it. That would pretty much be the killing blow to Marvel dominance of superheroic cinematics of all kinds. They really could use his mind and input.

I just hope that he didn't step down for health reasons or something very serious like that.

I was watching justice league and the smartest nation in Africa was some got damn monkeys, I mean gorillas than I remember reading Flashpoint and they had africa taken over by gorilla's and irrelevant to the world, which got me thinking is D.C. trolling nikkas or are they racist. At least Marvel gave us Wakunda which is better than Gorilla City. Think about it brehs.

The fact that grodd's city is in africa isnt really a commentary or diss to africa imo at all. Grodd is the 2nd smartest "person" in the world if he was a man (lex luthor, grodd, dr. Sivana). Those gorillas arent africans breh, theyre just fukkin gorillas.

Dont derail the thread.

:laff::laff:

This combo of posts got me fukking dying. Africa got taken over by Gorillas and nobody cared. I never even looked at it that way :deadmanny:

I fully admit that DCAU, especially B:TAS and JLU>>>>All

But let's not start hating on 90s Spidey and 90s X-men. :whoa:

Both are classic. Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes is underrated as well, the animation is mediocre but story-wise it's pretty decent, it really picks up in the second half of Season 1. The Season 1 finale where they go up against Loki was hype. The theme song was too.

This actually turned out to be a good show, just had a shytty beginning.

I'm convinced Warner Bros on the verge of becoming 20th Century Fox, with that bullshyt.

They OWN the rights to shyt, been sitting on these properties for years. Yet, Marvel put together their own studios, while helping along the properties that were bought by others studios before Marvel decided to make them themselves.

shyt is just :snoop:

I agree with the fact that the DC animated universe is lightyears ahead of the Marvel animated U but to have it above either Marvel or DC Comics is just outlandish

Anyone catch that 1994 Iron Man cartoon with Scarlet Witch and Spider-woman? Them two were insufferable. Only way I can see them on the team was if they let Tony smash em after a hard day of work saving the world and putting up with their cattiness and drama.

Exactly...vandal savage is pretty much a comic jobber...in animated world hes a god...grodd is less than compelling...animated he runs shyt...they brought all star superman alive, and actually made captain marvel and black adam better than their comic versions which are INCREDIBLY convoluted and clusterfukked with mere glmpses of greatness

All of the animated U robins are more interesting than their comic versions...red hood is the best example of animated being better than source material

Shyt is seriously slept on. The first couple episodes are kind of weak, but after that I was hooked.

Their version of the Hulk>>>>>

Basically a much smarter, more grimey version of the Hulk than what you usually see.

I've been saying this shyt for years. Nothing has touched DC's animated division and that includes motion pictures from both DC and Marvel.

-Red Hood was Godly
-Crisis on Two Earth's was amazing (evil Batman genuinely made me fall back. That nikka was scary as fukk)
-All Star Superman the shyt
-The Dark Knight Returns- grimey as fukk

Let's not even get started on Justice League: TAS, Batman:TAS, and Young Justice.

In Marvel's defense that Avengers:Earth's Mightiest Hereos was the shyt and was about to get turned the fukk up when the Skrulls showed up and kidnapped Cap and replaced him. Doom was four steps ahead of everybody and knew shyt was about to get gully but then they cancel the shyt...fukking idiots at Disney.
