It was supposed to be a HBO Max film but discovery decided any film over 40 million dollars needed to go to theatres or vod, so rock and a hard place, that's why the house party reboot hasn't come out yet.

Na, it's not as entertaining as the Kevin Smith/Nicolas Cage/Tim Burton story.
They only gave a hint of the Cage Superman and spiders in the flash. The entire backstory is hilarious.
It was on the stand up commentary "An evening with Kevin Smith".
It makes you look at Batman, Batman Returns differently.
