IN GO GO You HEAR WAAAAYYY MORE fukkING LATIN JAZZ AND FUNK INFLUENCE THAN GOSPEL BREH. STOP BEING WIERD. COME ON.

Lets say Latin Jazz was a primary influence, why do you think LATIN Jazz is called Latin and not Jazz? Who made Jazz? lol

Gospel is the root of all this shyt. Go read a book kid.

There was a small Latin Jazz scene in DC. Remember next to NYC, DC & Philly were really the only cities in the East that musicians could get consistent work in.

I already know that. But both me and @IllmaticDelta are saying that outside a relatively small handful of elements, GoGo is not some brainchild of Latin Jazz. It lends its existence more so to Funk, Gospel, Call-and-Response, and a touch of Hip Hop. That Asciz nikka made it seem like GoGo wouldn’t exist if it weren’t for Latin Jazz :mjlol:

Go-go never really left dc like it was suppose to.

TBH DC kinda isolated itself in those times. Drugs were the cool thing and garnered more attention from women then music.

Just like Louisiana bounce music. You like what it makes the women do not so much how it sounds.

Dc got bad bytches tho

I think its a live version, but it goes "Do you know what time it is?"

When I arrived in DC in the early 90's I HATED go-go music until I got to understand the bounce element and then seen the females go CRAZY to it :whoo: I was glad that I happened to be in DC during the golden era with bands like Backyard, Rare Essence, NE Groovers, Proper Utensils, Huck a bucks etc...:wow:

bruh I went to Hampton and I thank God I went to a HBCU because I knew nothing about go go until they played it during parties and stuff. Nothing like going to a pool party in the summer and hearing this...

This what you looking for?

Naw thats not quite it... it may be this song, but its a different version.
I heard it a couple weeks ago on the 4th, but I been searching everywhere for that version...

They used to ALWAYS play it, on the gogo mixes, like during the noon old skool mix.

EDIT: matter fact, they use the same beat from the beginning of this cut
