Can you blame them? That was a very rich contract for a guy who hasn't done shyt. You'd think Elway and Kubiak (the guy who made Matt Schaub a pro bowler) know a thing or two about QB's. Broncos just need a guy who will be alright and not have to win games. Kaep would have been a good pickup. RG3 too but he's injury prone.

Yeah Elway did offer him decent money but they didn't overpay for a reason

Broncos would have lost horribly to the pats in the playoffs last year with him starting over Peyton

Didn't overpay for an unproven qb. Went out and drafted his replacement that will be on a rookie contract for five years. With the money saved from not signing Assweiler he was able to resign Von, B. Marsh and Sanders.

He and Kubiak have a 7th Rd qb as a starter and have him looking passable . Whoever the qb is will have success. 2 pro bowl receivers, pro bowl(?) RB and goat level defense to bail him out of shyt.

Elway still doesn't get enough credit for what he was able to pull off. /rant
