Dead or Alive 5: Last Round getting Senran Kagura costumes

Asuka and Mirai costumes showcased in screenshot.

After a teaser in September last year, Koei Tecmo has announced it is collaborating with Marvelous to bring Senran Kagura costumes to Dead or Alive 5: Last Round.
Like the Senran Kagura games, these costumes will be gradually destroyed as the characters wearing them take damage.
A release date for the costumes were not announced, but they’ll be released for both the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions.

That "Core" version is free on PSN
Nah bruh :stop: You have a free "trial" which we have on XB1 as well.
I was gonna try it, then it hit me with the "You wanna start your free trial right now" and I eased up because I wasn't really ready to get into it like that just yet.

Lately I just been handling so much business that I haven't been able to play anything. The last 5 games I bought I played them all for a few minutes then..... backlogged :why:

The core fighters version is free. I downloaded it and played it before I bought the full game. It comes with a few fighters and lets you buy fighters a la cart or in packs until you have the complete game similar to Killer Instinct on the one.

http://www.mcvuk.com/news/read/dead...hters-will-differ-on-ps4-and-xbox-one/0144683

Edit* I understand why you are confused now. The xbox one got snuffed.

"On PS4 Core Fighters will be free to download and include four fighters along with “almost every game mode”. Users are then able to expand upon this via microtransactions.
The situation is different on Xbox One, where a demo version of Last Round will be available “consisting of the same free-to-download fighters and features” as the PS4 download. However, this version won’t be expandable via microtransactions. Instead, Core Fighters will be available to buy, although it will be discounted for two weeks upon release"

Dead or Alive 5’s Senran Kagura Costumes can Be Destroyed only on PS4/Xbox One – Screenshots Released

Koei Tecmo announced that the new costumes for Dead or Alive 5: Last Round featuring a collaboration with Senran Kagura: Estival Versus will be released on March 26th, and will be available both as a full package or as individual purchases on PS4, Xbox One, PS3 and Xbox 360 for 16 characters.
The costumes will actually be destructible, a first for the Dead or Alive series, just as they are in the Senran Kagura series. This feature, though, will be available only on PS4 and Xbox One (and presumably PC later, but no mention was made of that in the press release, since the Windows version will be released on March 30th).
Above and below you can see two screenshots released today, even if unfortunately they show the costumes whole, and not yet in their “destroyed” status.

021cd9f5d0c15ea9e764208b4f16b56f.jpeg

As you remember, the launch of DEAD OR ALIVE 5: Last Round on PC will take place in almost two weeks - on March 30th. There’s not much time left until this event, so the developers have decided to reveal the project’s system characteristics in order the players start preparing for the future release. Besides the announced parameters, the game’s creators have told about some other details of DEAD OR ALIVE 5: Last Round on PC. But first things first.
So, as usual, we’ll start from the minimum parameters. These DEAD OR ALIVE 5: Last Round system requirements are the following:
  • OS: Windows Vista 7/8/8.1 (64 or 32-bit);
  • Processor: Core i7 870 or better;
  • RAM: 2GB;
  • Video card: with 1GB VRAM and compatible with DirectX 9.0c;
  • Screen: with 1280х720 resolution;
  • Hard Drive: 10GB of free space;
  • Sound card: compatible with DirectX 9.0c.
Nextly, we’d like to share other DEAD OR ALIVE 5: Last Round system requirements - the recommended ones:
  • OS: Windows Vista 7/8/8.1 (64 or 32-bit);
  • Processor: Core i7 2600 or better;
  • RAM: 4GB;

  • Sound card: compatible with DirectX 9.0c.
Team Ninja has stated that DEAD OR ALIVE 5: Last Round on PC won’t support Soft Engine, on which the instalment’s versions on PS4 and Xbox One are based. In addition, all project’s effects on the computers will be the equivalents of the ones on PS3. The gamers will be offered 34 characters and 36 arenas to play.
Also, the developers have reminded once more that the multiplayer of DEAD OR ALIVE 5: Last Round on PC will start working within three months since the release. It will be added to the project by a patch.

Dead or Alive 5: Itagaki Gives Advice To Team Ninja On How To 'Save Our DOA'
Itagaki continues to be a firebrand after all these years.

ssd33f24bfc6db7547addef0560d2d9058dedfba1b1920x1080.jpg

Tomonobu Itagaki has written a new note addressed to the current members of Team Ninja working on Dead or Alive 5, giving advice on what they should do to save the game.
Itagaki starts off by saying he is not a negative person, clarifying any impressions fans would have gotten from his last Facebook note about the game.
He describes Team Ninja’s problems as being in a double bind (a dilemma stemming from two irreconcilable demands). Similarly, the fans are in a double bind, economically, and this puts the devs in a psychological double bind. Without mentioning it now, he is alluding to the situation where the many DLC packs for the game have the devs stuck. I presume he means the dilemma between making more profitable DLC, and addressing complaints from fans regarding the same DLC.
Itagaki’s advice is simple and straightforward:
Never add any meaningless features to your games.
He describes developers that keep adding features to their game without meaning as lacking confidence, and goes so far to describe ‘boring playabilities’ that can’t be hidden, and the game’s deficiencies as a ‘cancer’ that can’t be healed.
Itagaki ends by saying that he is confident that Tecmo Koei’s management are respectable, alluding that they would let Team Ninja do what they want. Again, in his words, management wants them to do good work for gamers.
Itagaki continues to be a firebrand after all these years. Do you agree with his assessment of Dead Or Alive 5’s problems? Or are you among the current fans that prefer the game as it is, for whatever reason? Did you have other problems with the current game, such as issues the game had launching on PS4 and Xbox One? Share your thoughts with us in the comments.

Dead Or Alive 5 Is Missing A Bunch Of Features On PC

Augh, I hate it when this happens! All other PS4 UI is considered invisible when taking a screenshot... except the "you took a screenshot!" pop-up banner.

While it's nice of Team Ninja to bring Dead or Alive to the PC today with Dead or Alive 5: Last Round, you should be aware that it's shipping without some key components.
If you decide to pick up Dead or Alive 5 for your personal computer, here's what you're missing:
  • It's not getting online play for another three months. THREE MONTHS.
  • There are no achievements.
  • Steam Cloud is not supported.
  • There's no rumble support for gamepads.
  • The in-game visual effects are equivalent to the PS3 version, not the PS4 version.
  • Two stages—The Danger Zone, The Crimson—are not included.
To be fair, Team Ninja has been upfront about the differences with the PC version, but it makes you wonder why the studio is bothering at all.
Then again, I can understand the frustrating situation for Dead or Alive fans. If you don't buy the PC version to demonstrate you're upset with the state it's being delivered in, you might be discouraging future PC version of Dead or Alive or other Team Ninja games. That really sucks.

It's a bit better. Still not KI levels or nothing like that. I just hate the fact that I'll have throwdowns on and it'll pop up saying 5 bars - get the match started and it's 2 or 3. Still playable with some of my mains.

Tryna learn pad for it now and leave the stick for other fighters

The likelihood of Sega investing the millions of pounds it would take to create the Shenmue sequel the series' fans want gets less and less with each day. But we always have mods!
The Dead or Alive Shenmue Edition mod was created by tinkerer Esppiral, who retextured a couple of the characters in the PC version of Koei Tecmo fighting game Dead or Alive 5 Last Round to look like characters from Shenmue.
So, Jacky becomes Ryo, Akira is Lan Di and the Dojo stage is Shenmue's Dojo.
It's pretty impressive work, as the screenshots, below, show.
"Have you ever wanted a Shenmue fighting game? You already know it won't happen, EVER!" Esppiral wrote in a post on Shenmuedojo.net.
"But we can always mod existing games to fullfill our deepest dreams."
Last month Koei Tecmo called on PC modders to play Dead or Alive 5 Last Round "in good moral and manner".
Here's part of a statement sent to Eurogamer on the matter last month:
"...please take into consideration that contents created by, not only game developers, but also from music composers, film producers, animators etc. should be respected and protected so that they further the longevity of their intellectual properties."
Hopefully Koei Tecmo takes the Shenmue mod in the spirit with which it is intended. Meanwhile, the inevitable raft of Dead or Alive nude mods is already widely available. Koei Tecmo will no doubt target those before any others.
