I actually take back saying this

Menace is better

I went back and watched both movies again and saw where Dead Presidents fell short in terms of flow compared to Menace

Thank god lol. I love DP but there's no way it's even close. This is above belly and shottas but definitely under menace II society and Boyz n the hood

Menace is a classic

Dead President is good and has aged well, but it’s not perfect.

I remember Allen Hughes saying it’s a flawed movie
It's def not perfect. ill agree. And as much as I hate to say it Menace is probably the better film. But I was mainly talking glowingly about DP soundtrack

Falls apart completely at the end ending with the dumbest heist on earth lmao. but it's a fun movie - doesn't even feel like it's two hours

Yeah it’s like you can see how they got their but in some ways it begins to feel like a completely different movie by that point

Yeah

Oh yeah, the Dead Presidents soundtrack is among the best soundtracks of all time. They were on point with the music.

The fukk? The heist went wrong. It's to early for this lol. I'll catch up with y'all tomorrow. I was fixing to write a book on that ass but I'm a save it

Because they were incredibly unprepared. They hire a serial killer they meant in Vietnam that became a pastor that snitches. They grab their old friend that doesn't even know know to properly rig explosives and blow all the money up. Ol girl gets murdered basically immediately.

The heist was stupid as hell imo

But besides that, it's a dope movie with a unique perspective on black people coming back from war and how veterans were/are treated. The court room scene where the judge insults him and calls it a fake war still pisses me off

Jose was a pyromaniac. There's a scene where he's in the car playing with his lighter, he knew how to rig explosives he was just crazy

Anthony screwed up big time by moving in with her as soon as he moved back. I've done a lot of moving from the East to the South, a few times bcuz of the military also. You always find out what a chick has going on before moving in. Especially a hood chick in the projects. Smh

Bro, I know this. He joined the bomb squad in the army, remember? Him and Tucker went to marines. He went to army and blew his hand off. Him being crazy and a pyromaniac is exactly why I said it was a dumb heist. He's been fidgeting and weird. Then ends up placing too many explosives and in the wrong places which blows up the truck instead of the back door which leads to a lot of the money getting burned.

Once again, he hired his crazy ass. Hired Tucker after seeing him as drug addict and on the corner. Hired the crazy nikka that was carrying around dead heads and then became a preacher. And ol girl's sister who got a lil too deep into this.

The heist was pure desperation. They may have even been better off it was just tate, tucker, and Keith David and a smaller heist. But he felt so pressured after coming home, being fired at the butcher and having Percy or whatever fukk his baby mom's and have him deep throat a pistol in the hallway.

Even Tucker basically says it when he's like why the fukk are you adding on these crazy ass nikkas?

Everything leading up to heist is amazing for me. I even think the heist and everything leading after is great, but the heist itself was insanely sloppy for someone that was supposedly a tactician in the Marines. Which I think is a whole nother point on the failings of the military at that point.

I think you're on the film forum a lot.
