The year 2000 was a super materialistic year for Hip Hop, period. They werent trying to hear that pro black music when even Nas was making tracks like "You Owe me" and "Oochie Wally" and other rappers went all the way retarded with platinum ice and "exotic" non black women all up on the videos like Gloria Velez and Vida Gurrera.
