Libertarians across the board believe everyone has natural rights of self-ownership, which is directly at odds with owning other people...
It was the state that declared blacks a de jure form of property.
Nothing is more at odds with libertarianism than the stripping of, and/or denial of liberty.
Slavery would not have been sustainable( like many other shytty institutions) without the state.
The revisionism is crazy. Some states were pro slavery, some were against... hence the Civil War. Same with individuals. The libertarian way would have been to leave the decision at the individual level. The state cannot decide who is or isnt human
Slavery is not taxation at 100%. The govt was not collecting the spoils of the slaves' production, their owners were. More lies and revisionism.Slavery would not have been sustainable( like many other shytty institutions) without the state.
The U.S. Army put down slave revolts in 1811 out of fear slaves would revolt across the country, ending slavery themselves.
Google the fugitive slave act...
This idea that slavery was a private sector phenomenon and not wholly propped up by the state is gross.
There’s literally legislation enforcing the practice at the expense of tax payers easily googled.
Slavery is taxation at 100%
And an act of aggression
I’m gonna need some receipts for this claim that libertarianism supports slavery.
