They can but IMO use different types movements to do that. Form is going to break down for such a technical movement as the reps increase.Can deadlifts help strengthen the lower back if you use moderate weight with 10-12 reps per set?

I've just tried so many different programs and workouts that I found that some odd variations are what works best...I do however especially when I'm bulking do low rep compound lifts for increased strength.
