Kang is a big part of what they want to do in secret wars.

Spoiler: Speculative spoiler

They aren’t going to be able to introduce the beyonder as the big bad of Secret Wars and it have any real meaning outside of monster of the week. So Doom is going to take the power from Kang who in the end of secret war should become he who remaims again. Everything is cyclical and in theory in the end when they reboot a reformed Kang should be back on the throne instead of Loki. They could recast, but I doubt Kang is gone. Majors didnt get any jail time so they could bring him back for the role.
