it's like the wild west out there...no consequences for anything...people just throw things up and if it's wrong no one cares or remembers

someone throws something up on twitter...then real journalists have to spend half a day tracking it down to see if it's legit...90% of the time it's bogus...but you can't risk that 10% chance of getting scooped...ugh.

And I agree, although in this day and age it isn't bad to just confirm a report and preface it with, "sources confirm ..." I don't really see what's wrong with that, as long as credit is given.

I don't think anybody is upset, but @NYC Rebel reached with this thread & got shut down when @GreatestLaker called him out. Broussard has said & done ALOT of dumb shyt, but confirming a report with his sources wasn't one of them, especially when it's standard among tweet journalism

I went to school prior to the advent of twitter.
This new age world of twitter journalism counters everything we were taught in school.

This doubling down on sources validating other sources comes off as "race to be first journalism" and wanting to be a part of the narrative rather than standard journalism.

It sucks
