Understand where you are coming. With age, comes maturity.
I look at the differences btwn this current 18-25 yo's vs. when I was that age. Never blamed the "youth" for inventing cursewords or anything of that sort. shyt, I did it. Please note that I did say its some not all of the aforementioned group. What I see exponentially growing is the increasing lack of an internal filter amongst the youth. As I stated before in my original post, at 18, I was aware of who was around (i.e. kids, seniors) and would act accordingly and curve some, not all, of my offensive language. At 18, I worked in retail and I would never chew gum at work, let alone chew it while answering the phone. At 18, I involved myself in numerous volunteer activities (i.e. National Rehab Hospital, Bruce Monroe Elem School), and now
I asked the 18 to 25 yo's now about volunteering and they
in my face. Most note, that these "actions" weren't just me. They were also shared with my classmates and numerous friends, so no, I don't ever recall ever being called the "slacker generation."
I want this group to enjoy being
young to the fullest. You only get it once. And yes, I am older but it doesn't matter. Rude and loud (for no reason)
in public is nonetheless unacceptable.
We can agree to disagree. I'm good with that. This is the anonymous innanets.
