Lol @ blackballed he took his artists with him and started Dame Dash Music Group. Obviously it couldn't operate on Def Jam since Jay was boss there. Jim went indie, Cam signed with Warner, Beanie Sigel fell off, ODB died and that was that.

He tried to come back with Currensy and Currensy said no.


He burnt his own bridges shytting on the people who would later run major companies like Atlantic/Warner (Lyor Cohen, Kevin Liles etc). It didn't really matter he wasn't looking for an executive job, he wanted to own his artists and flopped.

RD recently made a list of top debut albums in music history, not just Hip Hop history, a top debut album period.

So I wouldn't be surprised if the masters for RD was worth more than the average Hip Hop album.
