Ghost has just calmed down his flow, hut you can tell he loves making albums and he always tries new shyt. The only other rapper I can think of who has managed to maintain that level of creativity while getting old is MASTA ACE.
My goat Nas really gets by because he's just too ill with it, Pac dead. Ghost my number 3, but he's more creative than Nas.
Cube is my number 4, now there's a nicca that fell off - for every dope rap he spits he'll have 10 generic ones, THAT'S falling off to me. When rappers stop trying/innovating and start recycling. Cube/Snoop/Prodigy/...
Ghost slowed it down but even on the latest Wu album he showed more energy. His concept albums INTENTIONNALY go for different kind of raps - Ghost can't do that SC/Ironman style on Badnotgood/Damian Younge.
If his flow is off on Doomstarks or SCII that's when I'll have to re-evaluate.

Just a rudimentary look in to the Godz catalogue seeing how many solo collab and group albums he's done/been on, of course there will be a shift or periods when his pen game is stronger or his delivery changes/evolves.
I can say that I haven had the time to invest in his music the same way I did, say up to say Fishscale/More Fish. (There are people who would frame that statement as though its the fault of the artist)

I look at Ghost's trajectory like a ball player - from 'Ironman' through to probably 'Fishscale' he was pulling of crazy, off the backboard 450 blindfold dunks. His more recent material is like he settled into a groove on his jump shot - not as flashy, but he's still scoring....
THIS is a man who gets it. "Falling off" to me is when you just don't put out good sh!t anymore or you just can't plain ol' rap well anymore. Ghost just got old. He sounds older and at times he doesn't have the energy he used to have but he still puts out very good sh!t. And yea...let's wait until a REAL solo project to gauge where he's truly at as a MC.

Yep. Almost like Mike's later years on the Bulls. He was no longer the athlete he was when he was in his 20's but he became a deadly jump shooter. That's Ghost. Still putting out dope material, even though he's not in his prime.
