Finally got around to watching yesterday. Amazing doc. My favorite part is adding background and displaying how the government purposely broke down all the ex-Panthers. It added more depth to how she ended up on drugs. Also breaks down the reasons for Pac's anger and paranoia and where he gets his fight from.
Also adds to my love/hate relationship with Pac. Some of his problems were self-made. He didn't heed the warnings about fukking with Haitian Jack which started the domino effect of Pac feeling setup and abandoned. Coming out of prison was his chance to reset but he was broke and needed that money due to all the people he was taking care of.
It reminds me of that Tyson quote about fire. How if it's controlled it can be used to heat the house and cook a meal. But if it's not controlled it can burn the whole house down. Suge was the gas to the fire that took all that fire in Pac and amplified it. NOBODY could control Pac as was yet Suge seemed to not only not want to control him but encourage him to wild out more.
Pac was so brilliant and I just hate that the same anger that drove him ultimately lead to his demise as he was saying so much shyt that needed to be heard by the masses.

Great post

If you think you're lonely now, ohhh girl...
I finally watched this today. I have to be in a certain headspace to watch things I know will have a particular emotional impact on me. Thus, I will wait until I’m in that space. I remember how hurt I was when he died. I was 12 years old but this kind of stuff takes me right back to the feeling at that time. Ironically, when you’re 12 years old, 25 years old seems like an old man. Of course, I realize now, he was really young.

With that being said, I think this doc did a masterful job of showing what Tupac meant to his family. Like his aunt Glo said, he was the shining star of their family. This was extremely well done. I can tell Allen Hughes put his heart and soul into it.

RIP Pac and Afeni

You can tell he got closure from doing this. He obviously had conflicted feelings about Pac considering their history.
