When America hosted the World Cup in 1994 they wanted 4 quarters as opposed to 2 halves so they could fit more commercials in.

:dahell:

It popularized the scorebug always on the screen, so you could always know the score, and they could also flip it for ads at convenient points.

This is stupid to complain about. When has it ever been that someone has watched every NFL game?

YouTube TV and NFL Sunday ticket alone should cover nearly everything more than you’ve ever had on Network TV. That’s access to nearly every single NFL game through the season.

You’re not going to watch that many NFL games. Think about pre-streaming when we were stuck with what they showed on CBS, Fox, NBC and ESPN and got by.

That’s where these advertisers get you: they make you think that you need to watch every game when you never really did. Dumping money into the FOMO.

This is like when folks buy a ton of video games or books and never get to them.

Ya’ll keep spending money to build backlogs. It’s not the NFL’s fault.

Life gets so much better when you stop watching games and just check the score :blessed:
I got a friend/co-worker who went to Asia recently and said this is exactly what they do.

Even in the Philippines and China where basketball culture is crazy you’ll rarely find anyone watching complete games. They catch the highlights and talk about those. I guess that’s the time difference kicking in. People are in school or working when NBA games are on.

An NFL game that could be settled in an hour takes the whole damn afternoon..it just doesn't flow, all you ever hear is a whistle.

Theyve tried popularizing the NFL like other American sports to an international audience and fail everytime because of how ridiculous and contrived it all looks..an international audience that takes itself seriously would never tolerate watching the NFL :mjlol:

When I was working overseas, I didn’t have the time to catch games due to the time difference. 1am for morning games and 8am for evening games.

Just watched the highlights and kept it moving. Stuck with me ever since I moved back and for good reason.

No more rushing home to catch the kick off or canceling family plans just to watch the game.

I realized that it ain’t even that serious and I wasted a lot of time worrying about a bunch of buff, sweaty men :dame:, who don’t give a fukk about you, play a game.

:snoop:

Netflix + Amazon Prime still looking like the only subs you need with Prime stepping their sports game up every year. I won't be mad at all if Prime can conquer the sports streaming market:wow:

i thought the nfl was easy when it comes to watching: you just need a tv, antenna and availability to watch the broadcast. what's so hard about that?

Never paid a dime to watch football . I still watch whatever games come on regular TV (antenna) and find a stream for anything else I want to see. :skip:

It is that easy.

Social media era has made it easier for people to get swayed by the loud and mentally unwell.

I mean shootout to folks that do pay for those streaming services because someone has to

Me though, I have the pirated streams that allows me to zip around to catch full games, moments or just watch redzone

Everything is the bottom line and the NFL knows it consumers will spend money to watch

It’s like a rich fentanyl users who will hit every part of the city for the different drugs they want and the suppliers know it
100%. nikkas complaining just to complain. They know the NFL could put the games on a channel nobody watches, and nikkas will still tune in
