Sigh i never thought I'd see the day to kinda defend this show. Every episode focuses on a different character and each character is totally different. Lionel just happened to have the 2nd episode and we can't deny that there are some gay black people (one of my cousins is gay). So yeah 1st episode is bedwench, 2nd is the gay, 3rd is Troy, 4th is Coco, 5th is Reggie, etcGay agenda episode 2

THANK YOU for actually being honest about this show and it's impact and not the intent.
It's satire, not anything deep.
All these other dudes writiung out essays talking about
"No it's actually PRO-BLACK.
. You see .... the way the militant mulatto girl fukks the cac, proves to us that BLACK PEOPLE ARE NOT MONOLITIHC OMG.
The creator is a genius!
Black people don't need one way to fight racism!
Such masterpiece!
Different black experiences!"
why wasn't anyone trying to get up with joelle (I'm only on episode 6)? I don't get why reggie was so thirsty for sam, when joelle is better looking overall. so is coco.

You should be watching any good black shows and trying to promote a normalcy of blackness in television. You're feeding to the narrative that everything we do has to be three times as good to get similar attention as other shows.I rest my case.
Atlanta is the pedigree for me when it comes to intellectual black shows about the black experience.
Anything less than the standard of Atlanta, I'm not gonna watch.
i don't even watch Insecure.
It kinda talks about this but it's basically the idea of colorism. I know we on the Coli and we all like to think we the paragon of black love but, in reality, girls that look like Sam have a sort of privilege with how they're viewed in society.
I think they're all on pretty similar levels of attractiveness (But wait till you see Coco in a later episode) but biracial chicks have been consistently shown and treated like an "ideal" black women. Even Sam is ignorant to her privilege in a lot of ways and how easy it is for her to attract guys. It manifests itself in other ways because we all know that Coco wouldn't be allowed to talk or act like Sam without a lot more vitriol thrown her way and they touch on that too.
Outside of that, Reggie is attracted to the idea of Sam more than Sam herself. It's pretty much the entire basis of their convo at the end of episode 6 and why Sam likes Gabe. Reggie spends so much time pushing and pressuring Sam to be a leader for black empowerment that she felt could never be herself around him despite them obviously having some sort of physical attraction for each other.
I looked at Joelle being ignored as that sort of disconnect that we sometimes have as black men and black women. We chase ideals so much that we're kinda blinded by the ones who are checking for us.
It kinda hit me, in particular, because I definitely think back to times where I was pissed as hell because I thought black girls weren't into me and didn't appreciate what I have to offer but it's because I was chasing those who weren't into me while ignoring the girls who were.
Ain't no agenda and Lionel is actually one of the best characters on the show even though he comes across as weird/lame in the beginning. His friendship with Troy is actually one of deepest in the show and they don't promote his being gay as some sort of badge of honor.
He's just a black man that's gay, soft-spoken, and kinda lame but has a good heart.
What militant shyt did she do outside of tell Reggie that sometimes taking a break is an act of revolution and follow behind Reggie and Sam's leadershipand as for reggie, joelle is into all the militant shyt that sam is into, but she's better looking and not on that![]()
yeah I like coco. but I like REALLY like joelle. she's bangin. I'm not into sam because her looks too boyish. I mean she's cute, but ALL the dark skin characters on the show look better.
and as for reggie, joelle is into all the militant shyt that sam is into, but she's better looking and not on that
I would have thought as soon as gabe was revealed reggie would have tossed sam into the :bushess: permanently.
look:

Sam is more vocal, more outspoken, and more willing to get hands dirty. Joelle is down but Sam does "more" for the cause in Reggie's eyes.
They're all sexy to me. We acting like Sam ain't bad as fukk, breh?

You telling me that a chick that looks like this wouldn't have nikkas ready to drink her bath water?
Kelsey ain't as bad as the main 3 though. IMO, the main 3 are on the same tier of attractiveness. Coco's walk and aura sets her apart from me. Joelle got the complexion and the smile. Sam's eyes could suck the soul out of you.
I love em all.
