It’s not the same though.

We have two 25 year old guys as long as we don’t get absolutely raped in his deal they’ll have something around them.
The Only way this works if they take back Randle
U can't have Randle and Mitchell on the same team

But I doubt that and the team will be gutted like in the melo trade for another ny nikka smh

Mitchell, yes. Brunson isn’t better than those two players were at that point and I’ve never been high on Lowry like other people have.
He's absolutely better than FVV was that point
FVV had barely started and he definitely didn't have multiple 30pt+ playoff games
Hell he only had 2 20pt games that whole playoff :what:
Retroactively overrating FVV

That model requires us pulling off a Kawhi trade or RJ Barrett being about 10,000 times better than you project him to be.
Ehhh, I believe Mitchell is a prolific enough scorer to shoulder a load where if you find the right supporting pieces and he is on one of his ballistic hot streaks he can carry the team relatively far. I would argue he is a number one option level scorer.

This is…not normal :hubie:

This was against two fine top 10 defenses and the majority of this mans offense is unassisted!

This is not normal…

This is his rookie year against another top 10 defense thoroughly outplaying Russy…

R.J. is y’all man he nice right? He should prove me wrong

Nope totally comparable to having head case Starbury and trading for a washed Steve Francis :aicmon:

Maybe, maybe not
Imo Brunson and Mitchell are better then FVV and Lowry were at that point
Fair that they could be a better pair than those two, but I still think you’re a player away from true contender and the fit is a bit clunkier for our pair in this situation.

I think the Knicks made some moves with that pair in mind though. They paid mitch and locked in two more premium rim protectors to cover for another year of sketchy perimeter defense. The only thing I don’t get is that most of the draft strategy has focused on switchable players.

I don't disagree about Mitchell/Brunson working with the right pieces around 'em, but those pieces are probably shooters and defenders. RJ/Randle isn't really the right crew for that. I think Barrett can be a plus catch and shoot guy and plus defender with less work to do on offense. But he'll have to adjust his game for sure. Randle...I don't buy that he can adjust and he was one of the worst catch and shoot players in the league last year.

Mitch is kinda perfect though. Mitch/Hartenstein/Sims means we can have solid rim protection that lets Mitchell and Brunson chase over screens all night and if Thibs manages them right, he can let them take turns focusing on chasing the POA ball handler to conserve some energy. There's a path to this shyt working but Randle...Idk...

Spread Love - The Player Way
Nikka VanVleet and Lowry just won it a few years ago.
you say this like we had a hyper efficient kawhi and pascal on the team both of whom were 6'8+ and were the two best players in the series for the raptors
both extremely efficient and two way players and even then they would have lost if not for kd injury.
these expectations are unrealistic.
i still want don here but chill

R.J. could actually be in his ideal role or at least how I always visualized a maximized version of himself playing with those guys.

Randle has to go it’s that simple. If somehow we can hold onto Toppin at least. :mjcry:
