Undersized backcourt breh.

Y'all aint learn from Dame and CJ :snoop:
Yall be making the playoffs though. I'll take having a playoff squad and see if we can build from there. I just wanna see this team at least be somewhat successful in my life, preferably soon. 2 good years out of the last 20 is some bullshyt, so I'll take a second round exit here and there fukk it.

Aren't teams allowed two 2 way contracts?
Correct. We currently have Hunt & Keels under 2 way.

Them first 2 sentences is why "Knicks fans aren't patient enough for a rebuild"

We’re a playoff team as is. If we had Lonzo instead of Brunson, I’d be all in in a Mitchell trade. But the reason everyone was so low on Brunson defensively was because he was out of position on defense because of Luka. We can’t do that shyt to him again. I’m higher on Brunson because he’s gonna look so much better on defense next to RJ and Cam or RJ and Grimes.

I know wing spans are important but small teams don’t really win in this league… only example i could think of is that raptors team and it took a top 5 player at the wing to get it done. If Lowry was their Kawhi i don’t think they’d have had the same results.

I’m all for star hunting, but it has to make sense. Or else we’re as dumb as the wolves are, going all in on a player that doesn’t even raise our ceiling that significantly. We’re not desperate. We can wait for a bigger wing to become available. shyt could be as soon as December.

The Knicks don't wanna "rebuild" though, we've been waiting for a proper rebuild since Melo left, and most of us wanted one even before then. I would never accuse any Knicks fan of at least 10 years of being impatient; we didn't just put up with the team being bad, we put up with aimless mediocrity. At this point I just want the franchise to just commit to a direction, rather than continuing to accumulate middling picks that merely amount to rotation players and nothing more.

Y’all put trash forwards around them

Y’all was never winning shyt with the Warriors and LeBron running the league

Also didn’t have 48 minutes of rim protection :mjlit:
Yeah, because putting trash forwards around CJ and Dame worked great for Portland….

If you're trying to be a perennial contender, I don't think Brunson/Mitchell gets you there. So you set your price accordingly, which means keeping enough assets to acquire another big piece or to change the roster in case the undersized pairing flops (I picture big backcourts like Boston beating them consistently).

But if you can get Donovan Mitchell...you've gotta at least try. Especially since most of the competition is either:
a) holding less assets
b) focused on other options like Kyrie or KD
c) run by Pat Riley who Danny Ainge hates and would probably love to screw over

But drive a hard bargain and be prepared to hold on until the next available star pops up...it rarely takes long. I'm waiting on SGA rumors and think he'll cost less.

I’d love for us to get SGA :ohlawd:

Okc would probably just mainly want picks back

Exactly. Presumably they'd be moving SGA with an eye on the top of this upcoming draft (Wenbayama/Poku/Chet would the most interesting experiment in roster-building). We have more draft capital than pretty much anyone else.

The Knicks need to make sure Randle is gone in that trade no matter what. He's the one player that just has to go. The Knicks will have issues they have to address defensively at the 3. I am not sure R.J. is the best fit but he fits Thibs so you can't get mad at that.

Every fan seems to agree that Randle's gotta go but the FO doesn't seem interested in moving him at all. I think Randle and Fournier are gonna have a lot of heat from the fans heading in.

More so Randle his relationship with fans is toxic. Ev has been benched in 4th Qs so it won't be a problem just start Grimes. Randle is a legitimate issue and he's blocking who the fans actually want to see play and that's Obi.

I actually feel bad for Fournier because he got it together during the season & played well. But he is who he is...a good offensive player but a below average defender and a liability on this team in the starting lineup. Randle needs to go. Moving him is an addition by subtraction
