The Beatles don't suck.
But I think they're the most overrated group of all-time. Their songs are the most basic shyt ever written.
And Elvis is the 2nd most overrated.
Shakespeare is highly regarded because he's basically the best English writer whose work survived.
You gotta remember that before Shakespeare (late 1500s) and the printing press (the mid 1400s), a lot of great writing and books were lost.
Then there's also that thing about English being vastly different the further you go back. If you tried to read some shyt from like the 700s, you wouldn't even understand it.
Hemingway wrote simply but wrote well. Or maybe he didn't write "well" but he told nice stories, albeit a bit depressing near the endings.
