This was over 30 years ago. Dre isn't allowed to rehab his image?

Obviously she should not forgive him, I wouldn't expect her to. But why does everyone else have to act like it happened yesterday?
That's the price to pay when you do fukked up shyt. It never goes away.

actually I am NOT pushing false information. Affirmative action as a whole is not based on blacks attending white colleges.

But "affirmative action as a whole" is a meaningless statement. There is no law or policy called "affirmative action as a whole". The SPECIFIC thing that is being challenged in the court is race-based preferences, and race-based preferences do absolutely nothing to favor white women.

You quoted half of my post. blacks have benefited from affirmative action, but colleges have benefited more than us due to it for their funding.

That doesn't make any sense. There is no federal funding given to colleges to practice affirmative action. Did the UC system get its funding slashed when it banned affirmative action back in 1995?

I clearly stated that and you quoted half of my post and left that out. And white people do benefit more from it than us to this day.

No, white people do not benefit from affirmative action race preferences in colleges, which is the ACTUAL policy he was talking about when you quoted him, and the ACTUAL policy that is being attacked by conservatives and banned by the Supreme Court.

You keep deflecting to a completely different, completely unrelated policy that isn't being challenged in the courts at all, but just happens to have a similar name.

Even with AA, we still were getting rejected from white universities once they reached their quota. They only needed a certain amount of us for representation to uphold their numbers. Next time, quote my entire poste and not 2 sentences please because I stated what you stated, but in not so many words. It's still there unedited.

What does this even mean? Some people of every race get rejected from every university. Harvard's overall acceptance rate is just 3%. Do you think they were ever going to accept every Black person that applied?

At Harvard, for example (which is the school that was being sued by conservatives), 15.7% of their freshman for the class of 2025 were Black. That's a higher % than in the US population. Without race-based affirmative action preferences, that number is going to go down, just like it went down in the UC system when California banned race-based AA in 1995, especially at UC Berkeley and UCLA. It's obvious that race-based affirmative action improves the chances that Black folk have to get into good colleges. So what exactly are you arguing about?

She is the first hip hop personality I remember.

True pioneer.

He didn’t just beat the shyt out of her, Michel’le put out a whole movie detailing how he did her too and I’m sure there hundreds more as this nikka has been famous since the mid 80s.

He was able to perform at the Super Bowl in the middle of #MeToo and none of this stuff came up.

Further proof of what you can get away with when you know the right Jews.

Because he admitted he was wrong and apologized

He's denounced his actions from years ago.
It is shocking that in the Me Too/Cancel Culture era that Dre, a black man at that, actually has a Grammy award named after him. I see dudes in here commenting that it was 30 years ago. Ask Bill Cosby and Puffy if the passage of time mattered in their situations. Add it wasn’t just Dee Barnes. Other women have made abuse claims against him too.
Cosby & Puffy haven't admitted guilt.

Havent apologized and haven't condemned their actions
She is absolutely entitled.

These fools hold long-term grudges off message board bullshyt but telling a woman who still has physical issues from this battery and lost the career she worked so hard for to get over it. Make it make sense.

All that because they don't want to be reminded that their faves are/have been horrible.
Who's holding a 30 year grudge on a message board ?:comeon:
The Cosby and Diddy ish was known for decades, and by the public. Very few cared.
Known, but not litigated & settled.

Cosby was just convicted a few years ago.

the Diddy lawsuit was like a month ago.

Dre & this woman settled before most of this board was even born

It was a big deal at the time and it was settle at the time.

That's the price to pay when you do fukked up shyt. It never goes away.
If you're Black.

Plenty of White pieces of shyt all over Hollywood, the music industry, and sports that people just conveniently "forget about"

Hell, I even made a thread about that shyt that I forgot about until now:russ:

Even if he want to jail for that….he’d be out by now.

Like wtf do you want. You do not get a lifelong ‘you know you fukked up right ‘ card. What is there to do at this point. We use phones made my Chinese cheap labor. We have our money in banks that financed the holocaust. What do you want to do?
He paid her and she blew through that money.
And she was silent as fukk while blowing through it.
She really didn't mind spending the money her husband made working for Death Row.
He addressed it and apologized publicly in his own documentary.
The world is not about to cancel Dre.
She can forget it.
And sure, she can be mad as long as she wants, but ultimately who does that hurt?

I mean he essentially tried to beat her to death then blackballed her, she isn't obligated to let it go, if she wants to bring it up whenever his name gets brought up she is within her rights

Nah, I was responding to dude that said the public just found out about those 2. Diddy ish been known since at least mid-90s, and Cosby and his "Spanish Fly" jokes and mentions go back to the 70s from the Boomers, and I definitely heard about it in the 80s.

I actually work across the street from the courthouse where Cosby was tried both times. I used to go out there every day and see the news, supporters and crazy protesters during both trials. Plus Cosby was my high school's most famous alum, even though he didn't graduate, and grew up in a hood not far from mine. He's "just another ninja from Richard Allen...doin project ninja ish"

But still, if Dee Barnes wants to say "don't celebrate Dre, ef that dude for being a scumbag", then she has the right. She can go to the grave feeling that. And that goes for every single victim of abuse, and their families. No one can tell another person how or when to absolve their own abusers/victimizers for their actions, it doesn't matter when it was resolved or how it was resolved.

The problem is that people pick and chose, since it's never about the action, but instead who the action is committed by. All of the white pieces of ish in the industry that you mention, plenty have their victims speaking out against them. No one cares. People have been speaking out against Harvey for years, and numerous other execs and other actors. Status matters and it still doesn't absolve them of their transgressions.
