Marlin are the only ones I really worry about. When we have one on, everyone gets serious. I'm usually driving but I'm ready to get out the way if that thing jumps. We did have an Ono lay open my buddies ankle. Happened so fast no one knew what happened. Looked like it was just flopping around by my buddies leg and next thing we saw was a deep gash with blood pouring out.
How hard is it to cut that long snout?

Losing nice catches to sharks and dolphins sucks but it's just part of it. Sharks are worse because they are dumb as bricks and will hook themselves. Dolphins will just leave you with a big fish head.
I hooked an Marlin once and everyone on the boat was going crazy. It was jumping super high, I was pissed because I just wanted a chill day looking for light stuff like Mahi, stuffs that acceptable to eat or barracuda which makes for good bait. I was secretly happy when it broke the line.

That's why nature hates cacs, besides destroying their natural habitat they don't have the slightest respect for these animals.
