Nope, he started seriously rapping in 06 when he was still on the show. He didn't leave Degrassi until 2008, by which point Comeback Season was already out. And then he actually made one last cameo appearance after So Far Gone.

Hell the first time I got exposed to his rapping was on a Degrassi episode.
