A lot of people were acting super doubtful about the prospects of this kinda thing working. One of the problems with making progress is having enough people believe it’s possible. By the nature of this system, we’re bred to believe possibilities only come from “mainstream” institutions and more conventional routes. All to practice expediency with the pay off.

Deion has it all and more, so he can afford to take a chance on Jackson State. But it’s the fact that he actually has conviction in his mission that makes this great. He showing that this can be done successfully. Kudos to PrimeTime he a legend for this.

Because he had zero, nil, not a scintilla of coaching experience . That’s how we got in this position — by hiring a guy that was not ready for what it fully entails to coach at this level. In a few years if Ray Lewis decided to become a coach one night, and Miami had a opening — would Miami hire him to be HC? Hell no. Exact same situation. Now, as far as Deion and FSU down the line? We’ll see.

He had zero college coaching experience. But, you know how it goes down in Football (pro or college). If you sign 1 black head coach and he flames out then you don't sign another one (and if you do it a long time later).

Deion knows the kid and has known him for years. I believe he along with like 100 other recruits were there in Jackson at the SWAC championship game.

The word is some more big time players might be signing with JSU in the transfer portal after this so we will see.

As I said on here before the SWAC is a money making conference due to its location of teams. JSU is also a money making school because they are always going to get 30 to 40K people in the stands every home game and because it is in the heart of Jackson.

Folks forget part of the deal with Deion and JSU was that Deion got part of the ticket sells and ticket revenue. This signing and JSU getting better and getting more exposure not only brings more money to JSU and Deion. It gets JSU closer to their new stadium, it gets Jackson the crazy influx of dollars they got since Deion there (30 mill so far), it gets Bar stool more money and recognition (Bar stool has a weekly show with Deion from JSU). Eventually these JSU games won't be on ESPN 3 or ESPN plus. They will be on ESPN 2 and ESPN as JSU gets more and more talent.

I mean there is an entire eco system of folks eating off this Deion signing with JSU. Just go on youtube and see all the Mississippi kats and others (like HBCU Gameday) who been eating good with viewers and subscribers since Deion was hired at JSU.

I don’t know these white people stay on code. A guy like Deion, being a black man, would have a significant advantage in recruiting over everyone. They know it, but these universities prefer to hire some white guy, that looks the part.
