This dude won the WWE title TWICE? :snoop:

Hold up....I remember at least one time when someone was suddenly released, and there was no 'endeavors' line and people pointed it out then, too. Anyone remember who that was, and why they were released?

Marty Janetty. And they said they severed ties with him. Apparently he did some wild ass shyt and THEN got caught red handed with drugs. Its a shame because I used to know Marty back in FL during college, I actually got to watch a PPV with him at Hooters. He's a cool guy.... just... has his issues.

Him not going over Edge was really the beginning of the end for Del Rio.

They had a chance to really cement him as a top level heel by having him beat Edge in an important WrestleMania match, then build him on SmackDown throughout the summer of 2011. What happens instead? He loses in the opening match, Edge retires, Christian beats him at the next PPV (the right decision at the time), then, instead of feuding with Christian over the belt and getting heat for being the guy that beat Edge's best friend, he's shoved out of the way for Orton's 10 millionth title reign.

Awful missed opportunity. Then they compound it by having him beat CM Punk for the belt at SummerSlam and contribute to putting the breaks on his megapush. :snoop: Followed by a feud with Sheamus that was so awful it killed both guys as top level stars. :snoop: Followed by an utter botch of a face turn, then a heel turn that did absolutely nothing for him. :snoop:

Now that I really look at it, as dull as the guy could be, WWE really fukked up some golden opportunities to help Del Rio out. No wonder he wanted to go back to Mexico by 2012.

Del Rio should of been a even more corrupt character than Million Dollar Man..paying for title shots, running a faction, blackmailing authority figures. Not that cute sh1t where they try to make sure u know Stephanie and Cripple run the show and are above character gimmicks but have him disagree with him and if they don't listen, he bribes the magical "board of directors". He could of been a great foil for Punk and Cena. Kingpin type shyt. Rather they were unimaginative and Punk buried him on the mic, for no reason leading to Survivor Series out of the blue, and the rest was history. Del Rio should of been a huge long term heel that was untouchable but he got fukked over like Nexus did.

so by your logic, Lana doesn't get heat either because she doesn't wrestle

You misread my logic...Lana is a heel and her wrestler gets knocked down sometimes. Steph doesn't get beat up and only counts because she's Daniel Bryan's foil from 2013. Nothing about her is legit or respectable except to a bunch of undercover racists on this site. That's about it.

That actually would have been a great approach to the Del Rio character and they might have gotten some juice out of it but honestly I don't think he had the talent to pull it off anyways. The guy was just completely void of charisma.

Devoid of charisma? Who are these magical cats on the roster full of charisma? Wyatt started singing and everyone turned on him in record time..Zeb is face...Rusev is NOTHING without Lana. Males are gonna cheer ultra hard for her at some point. Rollins is being handicapped by Stephanie pushing her feud ahead of everything.

By the time he got to Punk, Del Rio's push was pretty much fukked, but this is actually how he should've been booked (really, the feud consisted of two damaged characters facing off at the time. Punk still had far more potential than Del Rio, and should've gone over. But give the guy a chance...). Especially in the wake of OWS. He's the fukking 1% in every sense of the word (even the "privileged rich immigrant vs. 'dirty illegal'" sense); they should have actually used it instead of making him "Generic Aggressive Heel #1573400000."

someone had the idea of having Del Rio go on a short losing streak and with every loss he loses a privilege [kinda how they did MVP] 1st start with his cars, then his announcer...then a basic attire [have some shyt about his thread being made from the finest of fabric or whatever] have him take a short leave of absense, he comes back as kind of a cartel type leader..Epico, Primo and Hunico as his muscle...Rosa as his bytch...work his way back to the top on a dominant take over type thing.

What does that have to do with anything and how does that speak to Del Rio's lack of charisma?

In the end, in 2011, it was STILL all about making sure Cana didn't look bad for more than a month. Same bullshyt that fumed up Wade and Nexus when they had EVERYONE talking about them Summer 2010.
