I'm not about to get in a back and forth in a thread where I deleted my OP. The first dude here probably didn't even see the original post and doing a pile on and dap fishing.

Just for others sake so they don't think the original post was me giving Reagan props, I acknowledge the dude was antiblack in his policies and actions but posted an excerpt from 1946 where he put out some content calling out the racism after an increase in KKK violence and particularly, the fact he or whoever wrote it for him acknowledged larger forces at play and calling the KKK an arm of nazism instead of just isolated dumb red necks which is a more common perception.

Thought the historical anecdote was interesting especially in contrast of what we know about the dude. Specifically said I was in no way trying to make the dude look good and in fact I deleted it because the excerpt of the next post was a reminder of what a racist the dude was and I felt bad even posting what I did. If you're familiar with my previous posts, I think it wouldn't match what I usually post to think I'm a Reagan fan or would try to rehabilitate his image. I'm fascinated by tidbits of history that seem a bit counter to common narratives and I posted it because of that.
