I personally wish we redshirt Hackenberg.
I know man, I know that Steven Bench is a good quarterback. He can lead us to another 8-4 record, at least. And I loved McGloin, before he even proved himself.
Bench will give us a solid season. Hackenberg his freshman year?
Nah, he's gonna be average AT BEST. He's not the kind of quarterback that's gonna lead us to a B1G title in his first year.

What I think will happen? Bench start 2013. Hackenberg will redshirt. Ferguson is a good 2nd-string. We don't Hackenberg yet.
What do I think of us this year? Good team. Similar to last year, 8-4 or whatnot. It sucks to lose Mauti and Hodges in our LB core, but Carson/Hull have proved themselves as very good linebackers. And this young guy Nyeem Wartman?

Props. Brenneman mos def needs to be red shirted, coming off that ACL tear. Plus you guys are just absolutely stacked at TE. With Kyle Carter, Matt Lehman and Jesse James.
It's going to be a interesting season at at QB for you guys. But Billy will make it work. Man it was fun to watch the PSU O last year. I hope Billy keeps it up.

Lol, I am a Oregon fan. But I am Canadian so you have to understand I have no real ties to NCAA teams. I only followed Penn St, B/c BOB was my Pats O coordinator. So I ended up following PSU pretty closely last year. Probably to much for my own good.

Yeah, dude. At QB -- unlike JoePa -- I think once O'Brien makes a choice, that's his choice. Obviously, unless dude really fukking sucks.
Last year was a really solid year. Better than anyone would give us credit for prior to the season's opening.
But
you know what you're talking about ... our TE situation is absolutely stacked. Carter/James are great pass catchers, Lehman is a good hybrid of passing/blocking and then Garry Gilliam (who is my early pick for team captain) has been moved to OG because of how deep our TE's are. No need for Brenneman this early, but we'll see how goes.

Haha, fam when he took over last year it was a weird time. Whatever people wanna say about JoePa, he was a coach here for 62 years lol -- and that's no damn typo. I mean, he was here 62 years -- 45 as head coach -- it's tough to move on from that, especially considering the fallout.

" but he's been amazing. We got the perfect man for the job.

Lol, PSU fans going ape over the BOB hiring is what led me to black shoe diaries and other PSU boards to defend him as a great coach. Which led me to following PSU football pretty closely. Dude rose up the ranks ridiculously fast in New England. And was one of the best kept secrets in the NFL. Billy was a major player in designing that TE O we run in New England. Which you have seen played out well for you guys last year.
Also Billy was close to Chip coming up through the coaching ranks. Very bright guys.
I cannot imagine how crazy it must of been for you PSU fans losing Joe. Especially over the circumstances, which I have learned is not as black and white as people paint it. A massive culture change no doubt.
And 1 alright year for Billy at PSU is not going to cut it. Big Shoes to fill. But I have confidence in Billy. You guys got a Gem..
