If your degree is in finance and you have some banking experience move to places like Charlotte or new York city. You can easily make north of 100k at these banks headquarters.
General Business, minor in personal investing, another minor in entrepreneurship

She's trying to sell you the job and she's trying to hold you back because she's hating on you and doesn't want you to do well. That's it. I've had people try to pull that on me before, and I learned that some people just don't want to see certain others do as well as they can.
Don't listen to her advice. Anything under 40k for a college graduate with a Science based degree and work experience is a slap in the face.
Apply for as many jobs as you can, and start getting into "fukk This Job" mode when you get ready to make your exit, because she will try to dissuade you from quitting.

I reread that she said she wouldn't even recommend you for a corporate job, so I'd automatically go into "fukk This Job" mode right after she said that, start ghosting it. Apply for every job in those two states that you can with companies, then apply for local government finance positions, then federal govt finance positions with locations in those two states.
That manager sounds like a bytch homie, sorry you got to deal with that. Just start ghosting it until you walk out of there.

Looking for a job w a job is much easier than looking for a job without one. Hang on to this and continue to network. There's nothing stopping you from leaving if you find a better job but if you don't find one then you have nothing.
You should try Atlanta. If you were closer to the Northeast I would say up here in NYC. Somebody else recommend Charlotte. That's a really good option for banking.

Op taking that promotion wouldn't be that bad of an idea just for building experience. Yu don't have to be too drastic after graduation although if an opportunity arise take it with no hesitation
Edit: @Shugg Ross have yu taken Brain Andrewa banking class? He pretty cool he's gone as far as recommending people to jobs after graduation.

Loan to companies basically things from a banks point of views. Types of loans, what kind of companies should get such and such loans. What companies should use as collaterals, types of payment, the process to make the loans. How to maintain that a companies is able to make their payments.He talked ALOT about the oil and gas industry. Said if yu want to make it big in Texas or Louisiana that's the industry to get into.
