I graduate from LSU in the upcoming spring semester, and I have been working for a local bank as a teller since April of last year.e
To make a long story short, I have networked (no brag) with people in several states to the point in which I feel comfortable that I would easily be making more than 29k (banker salary) starting out (not saying imma be a 6 figure coli nikka). However my boss tried to put me down
hard when I told her in a professional manner that I would probably turn down a promotion upon graduation (they offered me a promotion 3 months into the job as a 20 hour banker, then the very next week eliminated all 20 hour banker positions after promising me during the interview that I would be able to move up....even after as a 20 hour teller JUST STARTING OUT I had more sales and better customer service per hour than a seasoned 40 hour teller working prime hours)
She said when I turn 30 Im gonna wish I listened to her advice, and stayed with the company.
Then when I told her I would consider staying with the company if they offered me an internship or a corporate job, she put me down by saying "do you know how many people want those jobs, and do you know how many people actually get them"
"Do you think that I would even recommend you for that type of job"
As if a customer service job that does NOT require a college degree paying 29k a year should be something I should strive for after working hard my whole life to graduate from college and get a decent paying job
My question to y'all is this, if you were moving to California or Georgia with a SO, what would be your plan?
The short version of my current plan is to put my 2 weeks vacation time in starting 1 day after my 365 days working there then turn in my 2 weeks notice on the spot.
