You mentioned marketing so I’ll just say we have something in common. Have you ever tried sales? Not saying you have to do this long term, but it can help you save up money when you decide to start a business or something of the nature. I’m mentioning that since you said entrepreneurship.

I was just like you and graduated in business. Still didn’t really know exactly what I was going to do long term, but my best friend convinced me to get into sales (think Verizon, AT&T, etc.) and four years later I’m making some damn good money which could lead to other ventures eventually from savings I’ve acquired for the time being. Like starting a business or something of the sort. Just something you could maybe fall back on until you decide what to do.

@ KingZimbabwe, why did you decide on Interdisciplinary Studies ?

I have one cert in Entrepreurship and Technology from the school on my resume, I was also the Marketing Exec for the school’s Black Business Association for a year. This past year I helped form and was apart of 2 1/2 startup teams (one was a weekend accelerator) (two Ed-tech, one blockchain related) - however they all failed horribly and never got off the ground apart from an MVP. Apart from that I ain’t done shyt.

If you haven't already, make a linkedin account, and put the Marketing Exec and startup on your page and resume, and start connecting with your classmates, professors anyone.
You have to sell your experience even if it wasn't much.

Since you have no debt, if you need build a emergency fund i would consider taking a federal loan out, because it's low interest and they"ll work with you with your struggles vs any other kind loan.

Have you done some research into what you could career options could be with that degree?

Use the year left you have in school to start networking. Career center, alumni, and start talking to your professors. Then like breh said work on your linkedin and your resume. Once people see you putting in some work to better yourself they are much more wiling to help out.

I even sent out a few emails to people who were in the field i wanted to be in. Ended up helping me network with professionals who gave me some good game. Let em know you are looking for some career advice and see if they have a free hour they could meet with you.

I second this. If you don't land a position before graduation, look for a temp job with an agency to start getting some income and formulating your plan for the future.

You still have one year so that's plenty time to gather experience and the like.

Are you in a major metro area? If so, I'd suggest shooting for internships while in school. If you're at a top public uni I'd imagine they'd allow you take an internship for credit. It's a good way to get experience while keeping on pace with graduation. If you can grind hard you should be able to land something for the summer. With one under your belt try to land another for the Fall and possibly Winter and Spring before graduation.

You may have to start small but once you get the ball rolling with one internship the others start to come into place.

I'd suggest going to your schools career center and asking them about possible internship opportunities. Dust off your resume and run through multiple informational interviews to get the ball rolling.
