just be honest with him. he's your best friend for a reason. u being gay shouldnt change that. invite him over to dinner one day and just lay it all on the table for him over a glass of wine. im sure he'll respect u more for doing it this way then him finding out through someone else. good luck and congratulations on finding yourself.
