Very good player who has the potential to get even better. He's not a superstar but he can be the 2nd or 3rd best player on a playoff team.

Enes Kanter got the max......Demar Derozan is about to get the key to a city. If he learns how to shoot 3's he's be worth it for how much he gets to the line.
Right. Tristan Thompson just got $80 million. Shouldn't even ask whether he getting a max deal or not. Someone somewhere will offer him

It's all or nothing with some people.

DeMar is easily a top 3-4 SG. There's Harden, Butler, Klay, & him and you can argue with him being just as good as either at this point besides the fact that he can't shoot 3s. He's not a superstar who makes you a title contender instantly but he is an all star in this league and that's worth max money. Unfortunately there's no distinction on max money going to a superstar like Lebron or Kobe or max money going to Joe Johnson so people feel Demar isn't worth it but he is.

People will sit here and complain about the Sixers not being competitive and not signing and paying for veterans but when there's an obvious all star/top 3 SG and people think it's crazy to max him out because he alone won't win you a championship. You can't have it both ways. Hinkie's 76er tank experiment should have taught everyone that there's more to it than simply winning a championship. The Raps won 50 games last year and look like one of the better teams in the East with him and Lowry leading things. Yeah they won't win a championship but they're a solid team who is in a position to make noise for this season and the next few.

Post slightly better stats than a 34 year old Dwayne Wade while playing 6 more MPG and think you can be a top 3 SG.

You think Derozan is better than Butler?

You're correct, Butler is better. He slipped my mind (it's late)

but allow me to add in reference to my top 3 argument, how exactly can we quantify how good Klay is? He plays with a transcendent player. Do we really know if Klay is better than Derozan? I don't think the answer is as simple as having them switch teams because their skill sets are different and Klay's clearly matches Curry's strengths but still.......it's just a thought. Derozan is carrying his own team along with Lowry. I'm not saying he's better or worse but Derozan is clearly in the discussion as one of the top SGs in this league (granted SG is weak now)

Curry was elite last year but not quite what he is now and Klay still looked like an elite two guard. His defensive ability, ability to space the floor, run the offense as a secondary or tertiary playmaker, and the athleticism to attack the rim makes him an overall great player.

Derozan, on the other hand, is a lot more limited in his offensive skill set because, even though his better at Klay at certain things, it's not good enough to make him a better 2nd option than Klay is.

He's also not good enough to carry an offense as a first option so I don't really care. Lowry is the more reliable offensive option simply due to his versatility.
