Demarco Murray will sign with the Eagles Tonight (Deal is done)

11 times, men have reached 390 carries in a season

1. Larry Johnson (416) in 2006.
2. Jamal Anderson (410) in 1998.
3. James Wilder (407) in 1984.
4. Eric dikkerson (404) in 1986.
5. Eddie George (403) in 2000.
6. Gerald Riggs (397) in 1985.
7. DeMarco Murray (392) in 2014.
7. Terrell Davis (392) in 1998.
7. Ricky Williams (392) in 2003.
10. Eric dikkerson (390) in 1983.
10. Barry Foster (390) in 1992.

Now dikkerson is another beast, entirely. But after carrying the ball 388 times in 1988, he'd crack 1300 yards in 1989...then his high was 729 yards in 1992. He retired at 33, playing 4 games with the Falcons.

Larry Johnson never played a full season again, and only played in 27 games after 2006. He was retired at 32.

Jamal Anderson retired 3 years later, playing only 21 more games. He was done at 29.

James Wilder, whom I bet nobody here has ever heard of, played 6 more seasons after 1984, but went back to Fullback mostly. And never carried even 200 times in a season after that.

Eddie George played 4 more seasons before retiring at age 31 with Dallas. He'd average 3.2 yards per carry in those final years. He got a lot of carries (still 300 a year) but you wouldn't call him effective.

Gerald Riggs (another guy you probably never heard of) played 6 more years after 1985, averaging 56 yards per game and only 177 carries per season for the rest of his career. Riggs retired at 31.

Terrell Davis played only 17 more games after 1998. Knee issues put him away. He was done at 29.

Ricky Williams was still a good runningback after 2003, but he lost all of 2004 due to his retirement/suspension. He never did start for a full season again, and averaged 140 carries a season in his final 6 years. He's lucky. He played until age 34.

And so Murray, also...done at 29.
