Demarcus gon' back down to Barkley eventually. His acting like a scorned self-righteous bytch is getting on my nerves a little already. But of course the coli eats it up and this article will only make it worse. Just play ball and stop drawing attention to yourself playboy. You created your gimmicky image yourself, not the media.

He's being interviewed. Since when has being interviewed stopped players from playing ball?

He has every right not to give a damn about Chuck and keep his distance from the media. If anything, you're advocating that he invest energy in giving a fukk how people feel

That is how Cousins views Barkley, and it's why, in spite of playing for him on All-Star Weekend in the Rising Stars Challenge, sharing a dais in Sacramento with him for their mutual friend, Mayor Kevin Johnson, and spending a week together in Spain this summer, he refuses to acknowledge Barkley's presence.

Mention that Barkley doesn't believe the cold shoulder is merited, and Cousins responds as if Barkley is standing directly in front of him:

"I have no respect for you and I never will. We have nothing to talk about. So, yes, every time we see each other, there will never be words."

Barkley wishes he understood why Cousins holds such a grudge against him. He acknowledges that when Cousins was in high school, he went down to see him in a state playoff game. As Barkley remembers it, Cousins complained to referees incessantly, fouled out and picked up a couple of technical fouls in the process.

"I made a very conscious effort not to be too hard on him," Barkley said. "I said he had a chance to be really good; I just told the reporters afterward that I was a little disappointed. Since then, I've also said he could be the best big man in the game if he'd just grow up. He's never had a strong coach that held him accountable. I wish he'd had a Pat Riley or Gregg Popovich or George Karl or Doc Rivers that would've held his feet to the fire."
So Barkley highlights his immaturity issues since HS, yet here he is still acting like he's in HS?

He's doing the interview to solidify the gimmicky image. But the contradictions shine through in the interview. He comes off every bit as immature as Barkley called him. But he's a youngin and you can already tell he's gon' back down later on when he's more mature and ready to admit Barkley wasn't so much in the wrong afterall.

Who said he was doing an interview for that reason? I don't think he gives a damn about his image.

Why do fans insist on caring for things more so than the affected athlete in question?

Barkley calling someone immature? Who the fukk is he? Mother Teresa? Dude is a fukkin drunkard, he has no moral authority to even criticize another basketball player's passion and ferocity. Boogie gonna make you respect him because he gonna drop 30 on your noggin

No he's fukking analyst :beli: Boogie is the best center in the league, it's not close. It's no coincidence it came as soon as he finally left behind the shenanigans.

He never really does interviews like that. It was one of his 'principles'. But lo and behold, now he's starting to give reporters the chance to get to know 'the real him'. fukk outta here with that spinning ass damage control. You were acting that way towards reporters because you're immature, not because it was part of your 'principles' and 'how you were raised'. He's acting like he's too cool for school but really he's just another one in the pack. Barkley done been there and done that. Don't act like you're realer than him now because you wanna feel special.

He does one interview with Ric Buelher and suddenly hes opened up to the media...in an article where he says he doesn't trust the media?

:heh:

Barkley has no right to speak on the maturity of any athlete. Second...you sure have a lot of labels for this dude

I'm caping for "I don't give a fukk how you feel" common sense. You want a dude to live on his knees to the wants of the media

The thing is that he obviously cares very much and he's fronting and drawing attention to his gimmick. I like his game but his antics are annoying.
