True, but the cap number is the same. They offered the same deal.No state tax in Houston so he actually made a 2 million more.

That's exactly what he was worth but he wanted more from the Lakers. I don't blame them for not fooling around and risking missing out on Artest AND Ariza. I wanted them to keep Ariza too but they did what they had to do.http://www.scoresreport.com/2009/09/22/the-lakers-never-made-an-official-offer-to-ariza/

According to him the Lakers told him they think he's worth the midlevel (without ever making a formal offer) and to go out and find an offer and they'll match and then signed Artest the next day.
Props to Vlade for seeing thru Karl's bullshyt
True but it seems apparent he would've signed it if they made an offer. I think the Lakers were just stalling on him just to find out if they could close Artest or not. If they didn't then they would've thrown a formal offer to them. That's exactly what he was worth but he wanted more from the Lakers. if the lakers are offering the #2 and randle, the kings need to take that deal yesterday![]()
Could be. We'll never know the whole story.True but it seems apparent he would've signed it if they made an offer. I think the Lakers were just stalling on him just to find out if they could close Artest or not. If they didn't then they would've thrown a formal offer to them.
