ok, breh. pretend you have no idea what i'm referring to
@Loose i see you dapping this, so i'll let you explain it. you said "people see democrats as the fun police". what did you mean by that?
How is it the fun police if it's the dude talking about his own movie? The implication being there are a host of white directors out there that are going to vote republican because director of slumdog stated, "yeah if that movie was made now we'd get an Indian director." Keep in mind he said he was still proud of it.
If your ideal Democratic base does not engage in any self-reflection or attempt at all to reconcile with the history of this country idk what to tell you. I think there's a difference between that and the feckless hall monitor energy of the people in power with the party.
But again I think tying what the director said to the Democratic party is beyond nonsensical. There's no undecided voters out there whose choice is hinging on this shyt. If, "hey we did it this way before, but if given a second chance we'd probably do this way instead" is a controversial line of thinking, well, thisbcountry is even more cooked than we all thought.
This is right out of the right-wing playbook of taking something largely innocuous that no one cares about and tying it to democrats in a negative way.
This is a reach.
