That's some pretty nasty association-framing to smear Mamdani. They admit he wasn't in the meetings and has even distanced himself from parts of the national platform, yet they keep leading with his name anyway. That part is garbage.
The stuff about the DSA International Committee is genuinely alarming though, and it needs to be seriously checked. Coordinating messaging to avoid "sensitive" topics that make a totalitarian state look bad, downplaying mass repression, and treating state-curated tours as evidence that China is misunderstood isn't anti-imperialism. It's campist bullshyt.
You can't claim to oppose empire then cozy up to another one. And you definitely don't strengthen the left's case for fair treatment in a political system already biased against it by doing the work for a regime that crushes dissent and jails opposition. I'm sick of these weirdos.
