Because it has been done in Arkansas and Georgia which has led to people losing coverage. Additionally it is actually more expensive for states to set up these work requirement programs. Its nothing but needless red tape to push low income people off of medicaid which can be caused by a reduction in hours , temporary positions, layoffs etc. Once you have a reduction of hours which may not be at your choice its significantly harder to get back on medicaid; I would say its insane you're cosigning this bs but it makes sense you're a white male its in your blood.
