Unsurprising I have zero clue what a Democrat is. Catering to some random middle is just stupid politics especially in a fascist time period. Excitement is an all time low, no one running on anything

Pragmatic progressives — armed with bread-and-butter proposals to improve the lives of ordinary Americans and an upbeat message of hope — are the future of the Democratic Party.

This is a good thing. robertreich.substack.com/p/bread-and-...

Funny how the “Vote Blue No Matter Who” cultists aren’t lining up to support Mamdami.

Reverse citizens united
Big money out of politics
Nationalized healthcare
$20 min wage

Easy as.

🆔 jasparlamarcrabbe.bsky.social
Let’s add term limits, too

6/35
🆔 melteddreams.bsky.social
Age limits would be nice, at the very least

7/35
🆔 anthr0.bsky.social
whats your upper limit? i think 65-70 is a good range

8/35
🆔 totallyblue.bsky.social
The last term year would be the year you turn 70. So back track from there to run
67 for congress
63 for senate
65 for president
59 for SCOTUS -10 year term limit

Create an advisory cabinet for aged out representatives to provide guidance/history to younger members. Paid $1/year w/o tangible power

9/35
🆔 anthr0.bsky.social
i like the aged out cabinet idea, some (few) politicians actually have important things to say even in their elder years

Somebody should clue in Schumer, Gillibrand, Jeffries and Richie Torres...all are on the AIPAC train and favor the dusty old timers and no real change at all.

AOC, Mamdani, Raskin and Murphy are the future.
And Bernie, always Bernie.

100% the future of the party, but more so the future of our country. I’m sick to death of ghoulish republicans pushing their unpopular, despicable laws on us when there are only about 20-25% of the population wants their policies. End the electoral college and stop gerrymandering mandating!!!

12/35
🆔 flyhigherusaf.bsky.social
Only 33 percent of voters hold a favorable view of Democrats, with a meager 8 percent holding a “very favorable” opinion, for a net negative favorability of 30 percentage points.

13/35
🆔 cecivrai.bsky.social
That is due to 2 distinct & diametrically opposed views. 1 part of that 70% is Republicans & anti-Democrat voters; the other part is ppl who want a demonstrably left wing—not 1/2 measures—economically responsive party that’s willing to go further than a Schumer, Warner, or Fetterman (😒) Democrat.

We need govt run grocery stores.

LOL

Maybe if you don’t live in a city you don’t see the value in making resources needed for survival like food, hygiene, & cleaning supplies available in a way that’s not extremely inflated. I do.

Too bad establishment dems are gonna fight them tooth and nail until Trump announces that elections aren't a thing anymore.

I've always been what I considered a moderate left; I always appreciated the progressives because they always had the best new ideas. For me the downside was some of them were extremely radical, so I thought they hurt their own cause. AOC has changed my mind. She has matured & become our next step.

19/35
🆔 saving-democracy.bsky.social
The thing about those "radical" ideas is that so many of them had their birth in the New Deal, or in reconstruction Europe after WW2. Things like universal healthcare, childcare, paid family leave, even clean energy, aren't new or radical ideas. We've just been told we don't deserve them.

We also need to learn to be mean. Be more aggressive. Name calling, bullying and outing their fascist policies. Mamdani is not letting New Yorkers forget about Cuomo’s past. Attack! attack! Be angry.

🆔 bouldervoter.bsky.social
Agree, but also, let's remember that we did not elect Representatives to be loud-talking, media-savvy obstructionists and rebel opposition.

We elected them to legislate like sensible, competent administrators and professionals. In the before times.

Unfortunately, we are not in the before times. I don't think we'll be that civil again anytime soon.

Clinton had to clean up GW's mess.
Obama had to clean up GW,Jr's mess.
Biden had to clean up trump's mess ,
and a democrat will have to clean up trump's enorma-mess again.

It may not have been this way always, but it has been in modern times.

I think this is the message that people are craving like air. AI, rights being challenged, state sanctioned cruelty. We want people who care to give us hope.

The most popular ANYONE in the Democratic Party in ages and leadership refuses to endorse him. Very on brand for the party: if the donors aren’t happy then of course they will kneecap this man’s run

"Pragmatic progressive" ? Why are we applying corporate Dem verbiage to a literal Socialist & trying to make him more right wing than what he is?

NO MORE PRAGMATISM ⛔

That's what we've been doing for decades & all it's done is drastically harm poor & working class people. /1

34/35
🆔 leftwardswing.bsky.social
It's directly responsible for where we are today as a country. No, absolutely not. We need a damn battering ram of straight up massive Socialist & progressive policies. This country has been dragged so far to the right that we are literally living in a fascist country. Pragmatism gave us that. /end

I'm just now recovering from sticker shock after a trip to the grocery store. Wow!! Prices have climbed considerably since last week!! If you drink coffee, stock up now!! And, start brushing up on depression-era foods.

I'd vote for him, He makes some solid points :ehh:

2020 and 2024 was undeniably bad decisions, anyone could have beat trump in 2020 we picked a badly aging 78 year old because the establishment pushed him to the front
