I dont believe issues like healthcare, education, etc. move voters the way identity politics do... Dems are playing the game correctly, they just dont have homogeneous hate and struggle on their side the way republicans do...
I’d say maybe 60% of Trump’s voters are driven by hate and destruction—maybe more. But even peeling off 10–20% of voters could be hugely significant if you lead with truly impactful policy.

I wouldnt go that far... I think a lot of whites really feel like victims to "woke" politics... :manny:
They say it over and over, and every time its dismissed by the other side of the aisle as simply racism/hate. I dont think dismissing it is the right approach.

All trump had to do was make them feel heard and they were ready to burn things down for him.
Theres a valuable lesson here if Dems are paying attention.

It is simply racism and hate because " woke" politics have benefited white people the most. In fact, I'd argue the reason why we're in the situation we're in the first place is because white people wanted a major slice of the pie

I disagree with it being simply racism.
There are whites who voted for Harris that are annoyed by the "woke" agenda.

You are right about whites benefiting the most, but how people feel, trumps the facts 9 times out of 10.

Type of analysis you’d make if you’ve never lived in a Red State or worked a blue collar job with the median voter.

Yes they are that dumb :mjlol:
You're equating being dumb with not voting for Democrats because you have egocentric priors but the majority of the Democratic electorate is just as unintelligent and unthinking as the Republican electorate. They've just incidentally fallen into the correct political alignment,. You'll hear just as much dumb shyt in a upper-middle class PTA meeting as you will in a blue collar job site. The point is that you don't need to be particularly intelligent to understand that your wife dying of breast cancer because you can't afford the treatments is a bad thing, or that it's unfair for Mark Zuckerberg to be building a $300M house while an entire generation is locked out of home ownership. Those are very basic, common propositions that can appeal to a wide variety of intelligence types, but it's not being pushed because the two political parties have a vested interest in not having it come to fruition. So the messaging to Liberals is that the actual problem is dumb rural rednecks who work blue collar jobs and are too stupid to allow society to move forward, and the messaging to Conservatives is that the actual problem is weirdo hippy urbanites who hate you because you're poor and traditional. The problem isn't the people being dumb, it's that the political system/game is designed to manufacture dumb outcomes.

Define " woke agenda" because white folks define anything that benefits someone else besides them as woke. Civil rights act and discrimination laws are often defined as woke from trump supporters.

I think the political parties are purposefully dumbing down the population because it suits their needs. I think the median voter is smarter than the political class thinks/wants them to be. You don't have to be a postdoc at MIT to understand the value of universal healthcare or student debt forgiveness or universal childcare.

Because there was no candidate making the healthcare pitch so it became a moot point. In the absence of a Democrat arguing for big structural change to the healthcare system (or really any system in this country), the voters who could have been animated by those issue had to vote (or not vote) based on other factors. The Democrats have willingly ceded the emotive high ground.

The Democrats need to stop thinking of the election as Democrat vs Republican and start thinking of it as Democrat vs Republican vs Couch. There are millions of potential voters who didn't believe the stakes of the election were high enough to come out and cast a vote for the Democratic nominee. Rocks, just laying around.

On paper I wish you were right because if you were what’s stopping DSA from running Dems in light red areas, flipping them then securing a 300 seat Dem majority in congress?

The voters just need to be given an true leftist alternative right?

:jbhmm:

My response is cheeky but it is a serious point, if your logic is correct whats stopping true leftist from winning nationwide?

You don't think watching your loved one spending their last days engage in a futile struggle with the for-profit medical system can move people? You don't think seeing your child left behind in the education system and given substandard care can move people? The majority of people in this country don't like the way the system is being run. Trump and the MAGA movement are the first ones to understand and channel the latent rage at the systemic failures. Democrats are playing the game incorrectly because they're still hewing to the outdated notion that people like the way things are being run, which is why they keep putting up no-change candidates. The fact that they don't have homogenous hate and struggle on their side is a feature of their ideological orientation, not a bug. They could pick up the sword of hate but refuse to do it because their donors are scared of the results. So they'll continue to lose the long term war.

Nah breh lol. Democrats would gladly run a leftist in a red area if it meant they could flip the seat. Even if the Democrats preferred Republicans so they could “do nothing” which is your retort I’d assume, there’s nothing stopping DSA endorsed independents from running in those areas

They have two right in front of them, healthcare corporations and billionaires. Dem voters hate both they refuse to ideologically run on that because of donors.

I think identity politics touches more people and generates more votes.
It's about what's most effective.

Republicans for whatever reason(s) do a better job of discerning what the average man cares about... and as exit polls show, most women vote with their husband. #patriarchy

Any race based policy, signal or initiative that was created, championed, or furthered by Biden/Harris.

edit:
In support of DEI hiring during the first term of Donald Trump, the Office of Civil Rights of the Federal Aviation Authority FAA on Thursday, April 11, 2019, announced a pilot program to help prepare people with disabilities for careers in air traffic operations, which identifies specific opportunities for people with targeted disabilities, to facilitate their entry into a more "diverse and inclusive" workforce in a standard public opening for air traffic controller jobs at the Air Route Traffic Control Center (ARTCC) with the potential to be appointed to a temporary ATCS position at the FAA Academy.[40]

:pachaha:
If one isnt careful they might think Trumps anti DEI wave has always been in effect.

Gladly? They don't even like running a leftist in a blue area, word to Mamdani and Fateh :heh: they're not gonna give support to a LeFTisT PinKo ComMiE in a red area

Even if the Democrats preferred Republicans so they could “do nothing” which is your retort I’d assume, there’s nothing stopping DSA endorsed independents from running in those areas
Right, I wish we lived in less of a political duopoly but I don't know what the DSA is up to :yeshrug:
