Gladly? They don't even like running a leftist in a blue area, word to Mamdani and Fateh :heh: they're not gonna give support to a LeFTisT PinKo ComMiE in a red area

Right, I wish we lived in less of a political duopoly but I don't know what the DSA is up to :yeshrug:
There are plenty of Red areas where Republicans are running unopposed, DSA could focus on those areas in collaboration with the Democrats.

All I’m hearing is excuses, there’s no grand arbiter that rewards you with political power just because you have the “morally” right positions. Leftists need to pull themselves up by the bootstraps and win, whining will get us nowhere.

I think identity politics touches more people and generates more votes.
It's about what's most effective.

Republicans for whatever reason(s) do a better job of discerning what the average man cares about... and as exit polls show, most women vote with their husband. #patriarchy
I guess it depends on how we're defining identity politics. Because being a worker, a parent, a spouse, a child, an immigrant, a citizen, these are all identities that have politics. They're just ones the Democrats have refused to confidently foreground, and let the Republicans negatively polarize and tag them with other identities such as gender identity or sexual orientation.

It only seems like Republicans do a better job of discerning what the "average man" cares about because they reached the populist politics baton quicker than the Democrats, and are putting it in the country's right hand. The Democrats could grab the same baton, but they will have to unshackle themselves from the donor-led politics that have kept them fat and lazy for a generation.

Sure, I agree with this. I'm very much in favor of challenging every unopposed Republican seat. I'm skeptical the Democratic Party apparatus would support this endeavor though.

I think someone needs to hammer bolded into the head of Liberal Democrats, but yes, the correct avenue for the left to take power and enact their agenda in the American political system is a long, storied topic of conversation amongst the left.

I completely agree with this... but you're asking for politicians to move against their own best interest for the greater good.:francis: Thats unlikely to happen.
'we the people' just really need to support policies that weaken the duopoly.
Thats the only hope i see.

Excuses, there’s nothing stopping DSA from running as independent in red areas where Republicans are running unopposed, the Republicans running in those areas are probably underfunded too because it’s an assumed layup for them

Outside of funding, donations and general waste of resources for a small non for profit nothing stopping them. Additionally, nothing is stopping the dncc from funding a dsa candidate in the supposed red unopposed district you're referring too

You don't think watching your loved one spending their last days engage in a futile struggle with the for-profit medical system can move people? You don't think seeing your child left behind in the education system and given substandard care can move people? The majority of people in this country don't like the way the system is being run. Trump and the MAGA movement are the first ones to understand and channel the latent rage at the systemic failures. Democrats are playing the game incorrectly because they're still hewing to the outdated notion that people like the way things are being run, which is why they keep putting up no-change candidates. The fact that they don't have homogenous hate and struggle on their side is a feature of their ideological orientation, not a bug. They could pick up the sword of hate but refuse to do it because their donors are scared of the results. So they'll continue to lose the long term war.

People like you are proof that its the Democrats who arent intelligent. Everything your saying makes perfect sense. But since ita placing blame on Democrats the liberal loyalist will just find a way to flip it back on the people. Its really as simple as "the customer is always right". The Republicans leaning into the stupidest shyt. Just because they know it will give their base a cheap feel good moment.

Its the exact same thing Democrats used to do with black people before they were scared to be seen as "too woke" by whites. Its obvious Democrats have no idea how to pander to whites in 2025. They are still trying to run the same program rather than evolving. It would help if they bothered to get younger, rather than having a think tank full of relics.

The modern day white liberal has evolved and doesnt care about LGBT or black people. So since they apparently think they have us in the bag and want white votes, They better figure out a new platform and selling points, what white liberals actually care about in 2025.

And healthcare isnt polarizing enough to stay in the news cycle unless its a black man trying to do it. Its a reason they lean into the polarizing culture wars that keep people engaged.

But actually having new ideas instead of the same status quo also galvonizes people. People dont want to hear about the same bullshyt you never follow through on for the 10th time:mjlol:

You're equating being dumb with not voting for Democrats
No I’m not. I’m equating being dumb with being dumb. Defunding planned parenthood as your daughter gets pregnant at 15, drug prevention programs as your city’s swamped with meth, hating immigration yet immigration is the life blood of your local economy, voting against unionized labor as your job strips you of your pension, thinking universal healthcare is communist, funding public transportation is communist, anything social welfare at all (unless it’s your medicaid) is communist and most importantly as long as the Blacks are below me I’m content.

This isn’t a democrat thing as we’ve seen in West Virginia with Manchin and down ballot even in the last election that republicans will vote democrat if they position themselves with the “values” described above.

Democratic electorate is just as unintelligent

Healthcare is one of the top priorities for voters.12 In some polls, substantial fractions of Democratic voters indicate it is their top priority.3 This party-specific preference is reflected in the Democratic primary candidates debates, in which candidates devoted more time to healthcare than any other topic.4 While still important to Republican voters, it is subordinate to the topics of terrorism, the economy, social security, immigration, and the military, with an 18 point gap between Democratic and Republican voters on the issue of health care costs and 13 point gap on the issue of Medicare reform.2

An important prerequisite to understanding the mechanisms driving this significant difference in topical focus is the systematic examination of demographic differences between Republican and Democratic voters.5A recent study demonstrated the contrasting economic realities between Republican and Democratic voters, showing divergence between their economic fortunes and wealth trajectories from 2008 to 2018.6 For example, the median household income in Republican districts declined from $55,000 to $53,000, while that of Democrat districts experienced an increase from $54,000 to $61,000. Additionally, Republican states have experienced relative wage stagnation, with income declining 3.6 percent from 2008 78 to 2018. Given these different economic realities for Republican and Democratic districts, our study suggests that voter concern around the economy will vary by state.

Just as the economy varies greatly by county, so too does health, disease, and mortality. Studies examining county-level trends in mortality rates for the different major causes of death show geographical trends.9Disparities have been demonstrated in life expectancy among US counties over the period from 1980 to 2014.10Part of these geographical differences and county-level inequalities are due to deaths of despair (drug overdose, alcoholic liver disease, and suicide deaths), highlighted as a driving factor in the rising midlife morbidity and mortality among white non-Hispanic Americans.11,12Previous studies have shown strong associations between voting patterns, mortality, health, and disease in the 2016 presidential election. Strong associations have additionally been demonstrated between counties that flipped Republican in 2016 (i.e. those that voted Democrat in 2012) and the rising midlife mortality among white non-Hispanic Americans. This demographic was key for Donald Trump’s victory.13 It has been shown that Trump over-performed in counties with high drug, alcohol, and suicide mortality rates.14 A strong association has been shown between life expectancy and both the proportion of votes in a county that went Republican in 2016 as well as the Republican margin shift from 2012 to 2016. This highlights the diverging life expectancies of Republican and Democratic counties and the possible impact of life expectancy on voting behavior.15 Additional associations between several county community health variables and the net Republican voting shift in 2016 have been previously demonstrated.16

The median Republican county had 11% fewer residents who completed some college and the bottom and top quartiles were 6% and 11% less respectively. Table 2shows percent differences between the 1st quartile, median, 3rd quartile and means for different health-related variables as well as t-statistics and p-values. The median Republican county had a 17% higher “injury death rate” and a 26% higher “% Disconnected Youth” rate. The median Republican county had a 50% higher rate of coal workers’ pneumoconiosis, 25% higher rate of chronic respiratory diseases, and a 32% higher rate of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. The mortality risk was higher in every age group for the median, and bottom quartile counties, and lower for the age groups less than 65. The healthcare costs per capita were higher in Democratic counties (including Imaging Costs per Capita, Procedures Per Capita Actual Costs, Tests Per Capita Actual Costs, and Actual Costs per capita). There were consistently higher Medicaid participation rates among Democratic counties. The median uninsured % and uninsured % among individuals with less than 138% of the poverty line were higher in Republican counties by 2% and 11%, respectively. The insurance rates were much higher in Democratic counties among those with and without a high school education. The median Republican county had 2% lower life expectancy overall and 3% lower life expectancy among whites. Cancer rates were higher in most Republican counties than Democratic counties, with the exceptions of prostate, liver, and stomach cancers.

The median Republican county has a 13% higher obesity rate, a 21% higher diabetes rate, 19% higher physical inactivity rate, a 24% higher opioid prescribing rate, and a 6% higher smoking rate. Republican counties are older, with the median Republican county having 21% more individuals in the % 65 and over demographic. They are also whiter, with the median Republican county having a 69% greater rate in the % Non-Hispanic White demographic. Republican counties are more rural (median % rural rate is 234% higher for Republican counties), and access to care decreases in these counties accordingly: the primary care physician rate (ratio of population to primary care physicians) is 37% lower in the median Republican counties.

The majority of Medicare funds (52%) go to counties that voted Republican in 2016. Nevertheless, the Trump administration is mulling large cuts to Medicare and other entitlement programs.28 Additionally, the majority of individuals with preexisting conditions live in states that voted Republican in 2016 (55.5%), running counter to the Trump administration’s policies that weaken laws protecting those with pre-existing conditions.29

You'll hear just as much dumb shyt in a upper-middle class PTA meeting as you will in a blue collar job site.

You’ve never been to a PTA meeting or laid dry wall or lifted a bucket.

The point is that you don't need to be particularly intelligent to understand that your wife dying of breast cancer because you can't afford the treatments is a bad thing,

They understand perfectly well when it’s their family members that are suffering, it’s when you ask them to care about someone else’s family suffering is when their brain short circuits. The lack of empathy for anyone not in your immediate social circle has been demonstrated time and time again.

If I get social benefits it’s because I worked hard for it and deserve it as the government has been STEALING my money for years so it owes me. If YOU get social benefits it’s because you’re lazy and want hand outs.

The problem isn't the people being dumb, it's that the political system/game is designed to manufacture dumb outcomes.
Socialist twitter brained babble. There is nothing being manufactured where you have to vote for Donald Trump or Ted Cruz or Ron DiSantis.

If you’re American I would recommend you quit your job and go work on a job site for a year and spout your socialist views to them and report back on how successful you were.

By 28, congress may have the votes to change the constitution and just extend Trumps term

Secular liberalism goal should be to make it socially taboo to express your religious views in public settings. This type of shyt needs to stop. Stop kowtowing to religious nut jobs who believe in imaginary sky daddies
