so rampant homophobia and nazi tattoos are cool now? it's hard to keep up with progressives' standards :why:

how can you pick and choose like this? :laff:

The funnier thing is Tommy V cringing inside that “she’s going too far” waiting for her to turn down the temperature like Barry would want

The most comprehensive and clear-eyed entrant in that debate comes from the center-left group Welcome, which just produced a report called “Deciding to Win.” Its trio of authors, all veterans of Democratic politics, lead with the bad news for their party: The public increasingly perceives Democrats as too liberal. That isn’t a matter of flawed messaging. The party, the authors show, really has moved left on multiple issues since.

:wow:

The public also increasingly thinks that Democrats do not share their priorities — that they are “out of touch.” The authors write, “In comparison with the Democratic Party of 2012, today’s Democratic Party is more focused on issues like climate change, democracy, abortion, and identity and cultural concerns and less focused on the economy and the middle class.”

:mjlol:

The trio counsels Democrats to talk more about their popular positions on issues that matter to the public — especially economic issues — and less about everything else

:banderas:

The era of grievance politics. This is exactly how the Tea Party and MAGA were birthed, convincing the R's party that it was "ignoring" its core/base (white nationalist and christian right fundamentalist). For the D's its the centrist blue collar white working class.

The core of any party is roughly 25% of the electorate at any given time. That number spikes to as high as 45% during general elections simply because we live in a two party system.

The D's adopted "identity politics" to build a solid majority, their #1 issue is they are awful at managing the big tent. The R's goal for DECADES has been to consolidate power because they know their antiquated fundamental platform does not resonate with a majority non-white working and lower class. People continue to scapegoat liberal progressive politics as the culprit for the D's lack of success post Clinton-Obama. But the reality is there is zero compromise between the various ideological factions in both parties.

Moderate liberals are falling over themselves to push the party back to the center, while conservatives are doing the same pushing their party to the right - both believing it will resolve their "economic" concerns. Biden was a moderate who only flirted with progressive policies in order to keep the hodge-podge coalition he was handed together but few were happy with his economics. Meanwhile the conservates have gotten Trump twice now and neither time has he improved the economics of those who aren't wealthy. The economics are a capitalism issue, not a political one. And the irony there, is that progressive liberals are the only faction who wants to fundamentally change capitalism to benefit the majority, starting with the wealthy.

Simply "winning" elections doesn't solve the issue because that general election 45% evaporates in the following midterms and next general election. This just continues to put us in a cycle of one ideological faction attacking the others. There is never a meaningful majority to institute any real change, just a changing of the guard to reverse or exacerbate the prior.

What’s interesting about the Gaza crowd is they’re willing to support a machine gunner who more than likely mowed down countless of iraqis who are as Arab as the Palestinians.. I guess Iraqis don’t count :patrice:

Say what you want but IDF soldiers were more justified going into Gaza than America was going into Iraq :patrice:

A lot of moral inconsistencies here, hopefully some of our best and brightest puritans can clear this conundrum up for me :patrice:

Progressives are goofy.

They claim to have the most popular policies that all of an America loves, but can’t explain why the GOP controls every branch of the government right now.

They cried about Biden and Kamala supporting a genocide, then turn around n support a white guy who was a mercenary for BLACKWATER, who kills brown ppl by the ton.

Progressives favorite past time is complaining about evil billionaires while logged into Twitter then later ordering stuff off Amazon.

My favorite though, is how they always say Bill Clinton and Obama need to go sit down, they don’t know how to win elections, while their guy Bernie is a two time loser.

Progressive do have the most popular policies which is why billionaires and establishment democrats openly fight against them. Democrats team up with republicans to take down democrats look at nyc and Medicare 4 all
