:umad:

Ya progressives defend Trump all the time and criticize democrats.

Nice try though.

:umad:
Nope. I know you're desperate to deflect, but this doesn't work. You can't find a single post where I defended Trump.

However:
Cuz of the numerous outrageous numbers of black on black killings in Chicago and Philly that ppl like u and BLM pretend don't exist, but instead worry bout a guy who isn't even president (Trump) rallies

The ad centered an idealized version of "white beauty" then ended talking about good genes. That doesn't land as a neutral statement about attractiveness, but an echo of old racial hierarchies about how beauty and worth are tied to whiteness.

Nobody's saying the ad literally declares "only white people have good genes." The issue is the subtext and how it plays in a moment where we're seeing a wider push to re-normalize that kind of racial signaling under the banner of being "anti-woke." That's why the ad immediately got championed by that crowd. They understood what it meant, and they loved it, because it said something that resonated with them.

You can't strip an ad of its context and act like it exists in a vacuum. Corporations know exactly how these dog whistles work, and they rely on the plausible deniability of ambiguity to reach one audience while dismissing criticism from another. They don't have to say the quiet part out loud to communicate it. That's what makes it effective marketing and politically revealing at the same time.

Edit.
I don’t think you’re wrong in your interpretation but it’s still an interpretation. If the ad had Sweeney saying something blatant like I represent that peak of genetic superiority or something like that then an uproar would be justified.

Since the ad was left up to interpretation and one could reasonably conclude all races have good genes; the best strategy would be to let it slide and not give them the outrage that they were trying to farm.

That logic ignores the subtle, coded nature of how this kind of messaging actually works, and how it hides under layers of plausible deniability. You're saying that unless it's overt, it isn't real, and that's exactly how this stuff keeps getting recycled in plain sight.

Saying something isn't racist unless it's blatant is the same logic that keeps coded messaging alive. It thrives on ambiguity. That's the point.

If you want to pretend that subtlety equals neutrality, that's your choice. Just don't spit in my face and tell me it's raining.

You're the loudest one here, calling everyone Trump supporters, only for it to turn out you're actually one. Now you're lost on how to defend yourself, so you resort to spamming emotes.

I get where you're coming from but let's be real. The genes they're talking about are her big ass titties.
