i think the filibuster is doing a lot more to hold this country together than anyone realizes. if you think it's bad now, imagine if the fukkin stakes every election turns into "if the other side wins, they'll do whatever they want"
i also think the senators like being "better" and more important than congressmen. and eliminating the filibuster cheapens their jobs. the House is allowed to be a clown show, but the Senate is perceived more seriously, and the filibuster is part of it
