I think I remember Obama even admitting that there were areas of ILLNOIS he won that he doesn't think he might win now based on how polarized the country has become.
Florida hasn't had a Democratic Senator since 2018. There are currently no Democrats in the State Cabinet. Remember, The Democrats generally had a historical advantage in voter registration in Florida until Republicans surpassed them for the first time in modern history around late 2021.
Florida is not the same state that it was in 2012.

Biden almost won Texas in 2020, if it wasn’t for voter suppression by the AG he probably would have won it. Obama is a better politician than Biden. If Obama ran it’s definitely possible that he would have won Florida, especially since he would have received more support from minorities.
