I think Dems are in a unique perspective where prior leadership held on too long, but people like Jeffries are clearly unserious people.

I wonder if house leaders have to be 'big tent' in a way that consciously/unconsciously enables moderates at the cost of real progress.

I want someone like Warren/AOC whipping votes and speaking for the party more often, but also question whether that dulls their impact when they would stand to the left of everyone and try to shift the overton window that way.

I don't disagree that Schumer is trash

Finding anti-Semitic figures who are willingly to work with Mamdani, whose words are (purposefully mischaracterized as) anti-Semitic is not the flex that people think it is though. It's like if Andrew Tate agrees with a point you make about Ursha Vance... his perspective is irrelevant because it is still camped in hate/misogyny instead of logic.

The tweet is bothsiderism nihilism, especially something as disingenuous as using Obama's speechwriter while ignoring the unofficial leader of the party, Obama, reaching out directly to mentor Mamdani.

The point is that party leaders are being outflanked by the right, trying to moderate in a fascist period when we should be moving left. The fact that openly antisemitic figures arrive at conclusions the so‑called party of empathy and human rights refuses to reach is flat‑out embarrassing. Today, Trump endorsed Mamdani, while Schumer and Jeffries are practically afraid to say his name, worried they’ll lose endorsements. This isn’t a “both sides” issue—it’s a legitimate crisis as we move deeper into the social‑media political era. We cannot allow right‑wing ghouls to peel off voters simply because our stance is, “we support these things—but not if it’s that way.”
