I question whether this is true anymore. This reads more like a death rattle than a declaration of war.

I don't think he crossed them. I think they were foolish to not understand the popularity of a Stratton win due to P Moneybags (PBUH) and his success as governor. I really think the beef matters little here, and moreso an outside entity not understanding the pull P has.

Maybe they wanted someone who would sit on their hands more at the national level? :manny: Pritzker is sending in the goons from his coaching tree and he's earned his rep through being an effective policy maker. Maybe that in itself has them sitting uneasy.

The article points out taking issue to a billionaire funneling money through super pacs to buy an election.

Folks need to decide if this is something they really care about.

Do we want money out of politics and dem primaries or does it only matter if it’s a billionaire funded super pac we don’t like or a candidate we don’t like
.

Beyond that the article explicitly states the CBC has no issue with Stratton and will welcome her.

This is just articles for clicks.

Great point. Does the CBC have an issue with this or is their issue that the money was sent to Stratton and not their preferred candidate? Hopefully we get the answer.

Then why are they crying?

I don't think an election was bought here, so I don't think it is on equal footing. Stratton had the most money put against her, and the main opponent had almost 4X the campaign money in total from worse sources. Pritzker's candidate approval is worth more than any dollar-amount donation here, for good reason.

Either we think billionaires funding large amounts of money into an election sways it or we don’t.

Swap Pritzker for AIPAC and I promise you the response would be different.

We do which is why we need the DNC to push through reform banning superpacs from democrat primaries, right now you just strawmanning and filibustering to make a point that doesn't exist. krishnamoorthi received significantly more than Stratton in pac funds.

Right. The CBC wouldn't be saying anything if AIPAC did it.

Edit: I don't understand the instinct to try to catch internet posters in a gotcha moment vs interrogating the kind of obvious hypocrisy of the CBC. They want Pritzker and his money involved but only as long as he does what they want. Which is fine, but then don't pretend like your objection is "buying" a primary.

We can all scream over and over we want big money out of politics until the cows come home, but is that what McGrath, Clarke and Carter want? I doubt it. Which makes their grievances with Pritzker ring hollow. Its phony.
