Expecting dems to focus on the Middle East as authoritarianism continues to talk over st home makes me believe some voters still don’t understand the assignment.
But the primaries are in fact going on. So I guess we will see what voters are prioritizing .
They don't care. Domestic issues will always matter more.
If you think an ally bombing their enemy is something that most Americans have the time and energy to focus on then youre are out of touch with reality.

Hiding behind the "domestic issues matter more" line to avoid the question is a losing strategy. You don't have to stay with Israel, it's ok to move on from someone forcing you into wars you don't want to fight and sending them billions in aid every year especially while we still have these domestic issues that you keep saying are bigger than Israel but apparently not big enough to stop cashing them out every year.

Instead, you have hopefuls like Buttigieg, Newsom, Shapiro, and Beshear who can’t even offer the slightest bit of criticism of a country committing genocide without equivocating or apologizing, even though Israel is wildly unpopular with the democratic base. The democrats treat Israel and their ongoing genocide as a PR problem they’re forced to manage. That's not going to fly in 2028, especially when most Americans perceive Israel as the catalyst for the Iran war.

Israel isn’t the catalyst for anything. Russia invading Ukraine and getting bogged down in an attritional war that destroyed any political and economic leverage it had thus allowing Assad to fall was the catalyst. Hamas launching a disastrous attack that killed any and all peace advocates in Israel and all
opposition to them taking over the strip and running through the West Bank was the catalyst. Hesbollah getting outsmarted and blown up by their beepers and being declared outlaws in Lebanon as the catalyst. Iran overstretching itself and not having any strategic partners in the region besides pirate slavers in Yemen is the catalyst.
The Gulf states were going to recognize Israel before the Gaza war. They are the ones phoning Trump telling him not to get bored and keep going. Israel is just the arm we use to extend influence in the Middle East and gives us convenient deniability. Blaming them is just conspiracist and feeds into Vance saying nonsense like “Bibi tricked Trump”
The Gulf states want to build McMansions, host world cups and Rihanna concerts, and live in their autocratic capitalist slave fiefdoms in peace. They are comfortable with the status quo. They don’t want Dune 3 the state Iran mucking everything up by trying to usher in the Mahdi age.
If you want to end the wars in the Middle East or at least the odd flare up of Israel bombing some tent cities, vote democrat. If you want boots on the ground hunting down Shiite militias for the next 50 years a long with fascism at home, vote Republican.
The geopolitical calculus isn’t changing however. Qatar spends as much money in the US as AIPAC. The Godfathers put the hit out on Iran. Either this summer or 20 years from now.
