Consorting with republicans who want to imprison Trump == bad

Quadrupling down on Economic anxiety == good

These are real concerns. He’s not a very policy heavy guy and isn’t making detailed policy positions nor is he making strong ethical policy arguments.

As a result you aren’t seeing him be very critical of republican/trump/maga policies.

Instead, you kind of have a few base positions he says he stands for, but he doesn’t really want to talk about, “these are distractions.”

As a result conversations with Tucker or the 3 time maga voter can come across as Trump apologia.

The key point being his criticisms aren’t so much that maga voters and the policies they’ve supported via Trump are bad, but more so we should feel bad for them because Trump had a prioritization issue.

The fact that’s very openly pandering to these people along with his own personal tidbits suggests to me that he’s going to have his fetterman, Collin’s, murkowski, manchin moments on any initiative that he considers a distraction.

He has a good chance of winning so we shall see. And personally I don’t care as long as he doesn’t miss the forest for the trees, but his approach isn’t going to excite black voters in the south who don’t view racism as a purely economic issue.

Honestly, whether or not he excites black voters isn't a huge concern considering his state.

What worries me is how he'll vote. Senate will already be close and we don't need another Manchin or Sinema.

I'm not sure about specific posters on this site, because I'm barely on here. But, the overall leftist populist position is not that you shouldn't talk to republican voters. It's that you shouldn't capitulate to Republican talking points to win them over (It just won't work like it didn't for Harris). Platner doesn't concede to Republicans on immigration, trans issues or anything else the left believes in and he will likely win in a purple state.
They know this they just pretend to be obtuse

Agreed. As @Pressure was alluding, when issues that impact black people start to be discussed as distractions from a “working class agenda” that’s when we will start to see the mask slip. 3 ish years (ironically around the time of the new [hopefully democratic] president) is my timeline.

So when I posted about the left hitching their wagons to all of these anti-establishment center-right cosplaying Dems that Bernie has helped champion into the party, I was told I was being disingenuous. But now the same folks are seeing that the center is as far left as people like Plantir will ever go.

Idk what left you referring to but" the left' doesn't do this, they don't "hitch" their wagons to one candidate, and if that candidate they do end up supporting fukks up" the left" is quick to reprimand and disown them. You can't say the same for my pro establishment center friends who are still defending failing politicans

They were defending Joe Manchin even tho he torpedoed Biden's original Build Back Better bill. Its bizarre.

They are as vibes-based as they think mindless Republican voters are. Just too smug to realize it.

They seem to have long term contracts with politicans, if I voted for someone and they ended up being horrible I'd acknowledge that and remove support going forward

The pro-Israel Lawler recently introduced a resolution to condemn the progressive streamer Hasan Piker. In the Data for Progress poll, most Democrats in Lawler’s district didn’t know enough about Piker to give an opinion, but among Democrats who did, he had a +1 favorability rating.

The rub is when Platner and the like are railing about how corporations and Silicon Valley are our true enemy, your average Economic Anxiety-American associates these institutions and companies with liberals.

Go to any job site in America and there’s plenty of talk about the “man keeping us blue collar folks down” except that man in their heads always looks a lot like Obama.

Looks like there are only 2 contested races.
And in those it appears the CPC has also put their thumb on the scale.
